If ifixit calls something tough
@1b4dsrt5 жыл бұрын
The iPad is very repairable If you have the right skills. You can solder the charging port like you can in every other iPad mini. The home buttons have been a concern since the mini 3 and every good tech knows how to be careful in its removal and installation. The battery can be removed with a hot plate and adhesive remover and the screen can also be replaced. Score of 2 if your a regular joe. Not for a veteran tech.
@kelseaweber36365 жыл бұрын
With all those tools and a bunch of patience (especially if the screen is super busted) you can get the display off and remove internal components. Very repairable is a stretch, but repairable? Absolutely! Totally agree with your score assessment.

@SirDella5 жыл бұрын

The only two hard things are the touchID and the lightning connector. Imho, 2 is a bit on the harsh side. Adhesive is easy to remove given heat and/or isopropyl alcohol. The biggest reason to lower the score should be that for a cracked screen, you're gonna change the whole display with the glass - and that's real expensive. I'd give it a high 3 / low 4.

@kelseaweber36365 жыл бұрын
We only need two (one for the video and one for the step-by-step photo guide)and we do our best not to destroy them. When form factor is so similar, disassembly is pretty straight forward. We like to use them for parts compatibility testing and guide making afterwards too. The world don't need no more e-waste that's for sure. :)
