Hey mate I’ve upgraded years ago to my 5th gen as my 1st gen screen was cracked, recently it doesn’t turn on I’ve not touched it in years. I’m going to replace the battery but I have no idea where to buy replacement screen where did u get one? I checked the description it doesn’t say Just want to access the iPad to get photos off it, cheers

Interesting video. My old iPad Pro went fuzzy over a year ago now. It's casing was bending and the screen is in good condition but prizing itself off the main casing, you could put a pencil between the screen and the back metal case. Just wondering if it was down to a loose connection rather than screen problems? Might open up the back now with seeing this video, though still not completely sure if it's a good idea.

I was told by a repair shop that the glass and LCD had to be replaced as one unit. Is this accurate or can you just replace the glass?

is it possible to separate the digitizer from the lcd like older iPads or will you need a separator like the iPad Air 2 and newer?

You caused short circuit and blew a backlight filter. Really you should Always* disconnect the battery to avoid problems.

because you didn't disconnect the battery. standard ipad 6-9, you don't really need to disconnect the battery, but any pro, air 4....etc absolutely requires battery disconnection and power off

Never remove the lcd before disconnecting the battery as you risk blowing the backlight on the board.. then this becomes far from a simple screen swap :( Also sorry to be picky but it helps us learn, you also took off the nipple on the home button so you lost the clicky element right there.
