Great comparison! You could probably make an older iPad last if you wanted to, but getting a bigger screen plus a faster OS is enough of an upgrade for me!

Also not having the Apple pencil on the older iPads is harsh, I think that alone is enough of a reason for me to upgrade

You can definitely make it last, but for me the lack of palm rejection and the screen size of the Air is a deal breaker. The Air seems to be handling iOS 14 pretty well though!

This is a great video, thanks Elizabeth! I'm thinking of purchasing an iPad (I've never had one) and I love the idea of the pro but I'm thinking in terms of performing, is it better if I also get a pedal to turn pages? I feel like that's the only annoying thing about iPads, especially since it's an added cost :(

Thanks for watching, Caitlin! I highly recommend getting a pedal to turn pages, but forscore does have some other options. I think the newer iPad models support face gestures to turn pages, but that might get complicated since you play the flute… Another option is enabling “half page turns” where it essentially splits the page of music in half, and when you too the bottom of the screen, the lower half of the music moves to the top, and the beginning of the next page of music pops up in the bottom half. This is nice if you have rests towards the bottom of the page, so you can turn while you’re not playing.

Hi Mike, I have the 2020 iPad Pro (generation 4) 12.9 inch display with 128gb of storage. I use the Apple Pencil 2nd generation and the Donner Bluetooth pedal. It’s a great setup for me!
