Wow… the good, bad and ugly of the iPhone 11 Pro Max vlogging. Apple really tried to pull out all the stops on this one when it comes to video recording.

The back facing ultra wide camera looks good for vlogging but the front facing stills looks lacking and it’s a shame for a upgraded camera that was advertised to record in 4K. It’d be interesting to see the iPhone pitted against a point and shoot like the rx100 vii for vlogging, great video as always.

I dont know if there's an option for iPhones in the settings but you need to turn off electronic stabilization its causing lots of problems. Same deal on Samsung and Huawei phones. The ghosting in low light gets really bad with it enabled. Even in the well lit hotel room with the big window you can see some ghosting still. Outside in the sun when there's any major shake the image will get soft too. I also noticed several large glitches/artifacts that looked like part of the video was corrupted. PotatoJet lost some of his vlog footage from the iPhone 11 it just sort of disappeared, and many of his other shots came out extremely choppy like 10fps choppy. Some of the glitches/artifacts are probably caused by switching between cameras in addition to the electronic stabilization. The iPhone is trying to do too much at once. Stick to one lens during each take and turn off electronic stabilization until they fix the issues, if they even can. Seems like a bandwidth and processing issue similar to how huawei phones still can't do proper 4k30p smoothly with electronic stabilization without random choppiness and how their older phones couldn't even handle electronic stabilization in 1080p and just upscaled a blurry but stabilized 720p video. Thank goodness for trusty optical stabilization.

What tiny compact external microphone can you recommend for the 11 Pro? I am new to this and I have 11 pro 512 gb. When talking a pic or video , where do you see the option for ultra wide or telephoto that you mentioned? When taking a video where do you hit the zoom at? 0.5, 1 or 2? Thanks

So they make a lightning mic similar to the videomicro but all the reviews I've seen say it's no good. Other than wind reduction the quality on board the iPhone is better. I have a lightning to 3.5 adapter but need to get a trs to trrs cable, I guess BT mics will also work

@@KylePugliese Hey Kyle, the low light is very good on the iPhone, it's only with the FRONT facing camera low light video suffers. The rear camera has great low light video and pictures.

For the ultra high cost of that camera phone, i'm not that impressed. Low light is the true test for any camera and in low light it was terrible. Also I believe if you want a good camera quality buy a real camera... Use your phones camera for add on footage, not your primary footage because the quality is lacking. My friend mentioned this was the best camera available , but knowing what high quality footage looks like and seeing this cameras footage for the money I will pass. thanks for the review!
