I think the pumpkin didn’t had the light on when you took the pixel picture. There is not even a slightly of hint of red lighting in that image. Even the scull behind has the greenish light from the other lightening and didn’t had any reddish color. It seems like the scene changed when you took that picture.

The one thing that i love about the pixel 4 is that in most situation whether your taking a selfie or snap an object or anything, most of the times the images will came out great with the images being well exposed with nice colours, great dynamic range and good amount of details. Its perfectly balanced. I love that. Yes the pixel 4 lacks ultrawide cameta but for me untill this day i still think when it comes to just point and shoot, the pixel 4 is still the best camera for that regards

Great review! But I think reviewers should stop comparing both with 4k 30FPS, just use straight the 60fps on the iPhone against the 30 fps on the Pixel. Don't lower the iPhone quality just to match the other phone. Do it like "this is the best you can get in the iPhone (60fps) and this is the best on the Pixel (only 30fps)"

God that bokeh blur on the iPhone is painfully bad if you look at the trees that are just next to the guy's face on the right side
@Altema225 жыл бұрын
Nice video, so thanks! I'm kinda used to natural Bokeh, so to me, the Pixel over does the blur a bit. However, on the 0:55 shot, the iPhone messes up on the gap below the right ear. At 5:16, I liked the iPhone shot better. It is odd that the Pixel took 2 minutes in astro mode, and my thought is that if you have to use a tripod, you can get similar results with a time exposure on other phones with pro mode. I know I have. At 7:20, the Pixel shot had stars, but they were out of frame when you zoomed in. However I did prefer the iPhone shot because the Pixel overexposed the lights. For video, the iPhone was more stable in the beginning, but I did NOT like the exposure walking through the arch. You know who might have better video stabilization than either of these? Hold on, you better sit down. Ok... I'm talking about the updated HTC U12 Plus. Seriously. I was at a wedding this past Saturday and the photographer did not show. They asked me to take shots with a Canon, but it's battery died during the reception, so they had me use the U12. A producer I knew was at the wedding, and when he saw the footage, he asked if I was using a gimbal. Turns out the U12 Plus also has better detail in still photos than the iPhone 11 and Note 10+, so it was an interesting day. The Pixel having separate control over the highlights and shadows is pure dope, and I wish I had it on mine. I still like having a full pro mode though ;)
@Classicman.435 жыл бұрын
You do gave Astro photography on the iPhone 11 Pro. They just don’t call it that. The phone HAS to be on a tripod where it detects no motion in order to allow you to set 30 seconds on the night mode timer

@@Classicman.43 i get where you're coming from but i guess as there is not "technically" a seperate mode/option for it, they think the average consumer wouldnt use it. Ofcourse you can manually slide it to a 30 sec exposure and get a decent image but just by looking at samples on youtube, 30 seconds doesnt seem to be enough to get really nice pictures

Some thoughts: 1. The jack'o lantern shot from the Pixel 4 I think is an example of the auto white balancing. The result is not necessarily what you might want out of your shot, but also is helpful in many instances. 2. What's with the strange glowing patch in the sky underneath the arch in the iPhone night mode photo? Seems like Pixel is still better in night shots. 3. "I don't know what the iPhone is doing to get such great video"...the answer is HDR 4. The "faded" look or "graininess" in Pixel video, especially noticeable in the night sky, is probably because ISO is high. Overall, hope the Pixel line improves its video capabilities next time.

When I watch the many videos that compare the cameras on these two phones sometimes I like photos on the iPhone better and sometimes I like photos on the Pixel better. But what makes the iPhone a better camera phone is not only its superior video quality but its ultra-wide lens, its longer battery life, and its greater storage capabilities.

Also why do most you reviewers try to act like Google stock app has no editing tools? It's not as extensive as Snapseed or Lightroom but it's more then enough. You can adjust exposure, contrast, warmth, skin tones, white balance, blacks, vignette, shoes, highlights, deep blue and now blur effects after taking a photo. Why you all fail to mention this? Oh yeah I officially got over 7 hours SOT on 4xl with 10% left on battery. Battery gets better as the phone learns your habits. Had to through that out there.

the phone camera's imo are basically the same. Iphone has warmer colours if you prefer that. Pixel has cooler colours if you prefer that. Otherwise its literally a toss up. I personally like cooler colours as they look crispy but that is entirely subjective and not an objective thing
@sidersproductions9415 жыл бұрын
But you don't get the ultrawide or better video options with the Pixel. Also Apple is far away better at working with developers for photo and video specific apps which is why you can manually control all three lenses on the Moment and Filmic Pro apps for iOS and not Android. I'm a little salty about that fact being a person who loves to tinker and have complete control over my content when I want it and I'm pretty doubtful that OEMs care enough to open up their camera APIs for developers on Android unfortunately. That's usually why I go for LG phones as they are one of the few that have these controls built-in to their native camera apps.
@supaahflyy5 жыл бұрын
The RaRa85 I agree with everything you said tbh. Whilst the standard lens pictures are basically the same, the pixel lacks the versatility that the iPhone has. Imo you should only get the pixel if you get a big discount or android is your thing

@aswinottapilavil4955 жыл бұрын
Muhammad Ahzed If you mean the pumpkin image, then I don’t think that’s the case. It clearly looks like the iPhone pic was taken when the light was on and pixel was taken when it’s off. You can clearly see that pixel did not capture any light coming from that source. If you look at the skull on the iPhone pics, you can see it’s side and back portion is lit by a red light coming from the pumpkin but on the pixel there is no light on its side or back only it’s front is lit by a green light (there are some time differences but no camera can make light disappear completely like that, clearly shows that there was no light coming from that direction). You can also see that the pixel image is a lot brighter (especially the background) that’s because there was no exposure coming from pumpkin at that particular time. It’s super obvious that the scenes were totally different. I don’t know why he used such an image but maybe it’s just a mistake and he got confused but no pixel doesn’t mess out white balance by that much (no camera does, there are slight shift it tones). This was clearly a pic of same subject but at a totally different lighting scenario.

pixel used color transform (introduced last year) and it's AI AWB to "fix" the image. there was a light shining on it, it just did such a good job of eliminating that bright red exposure that it fooled you too.

I don't own neither phones. What puzzles me is that most of the well known and reliable phone websites rate the Pixel phone as the #1 camera phone in the market. While the iPhone 11 in many cases gets rank at #3. In this video however it completely looks otherwise. Which brings me to this question - how biased is this review? I most say the pumpkin picture looks uncharacteristically Pixel's.

Pixel wins. I sold the Mi Note 10 after finding out the issues with the huge 108MP sensor. It is never corner to corner sharp, struggles a little to focus on close subjects and has way too shallow a field of focus which means even part of the subject gets blurred. Detail at longer range is better though. But that's about it.

The iphone has had Google Lens for sometime now. Just use the Google app and on the search bar. Nightcap has been around on iOS for a while and allows astrophotography as well as time lapse. RookieCam can enable realtime effects and editing on the iphone. I think when reviewing you should mention that the whole point of having an app ecosystem is that you can get what you want if you need it, just go to the Stores. The hardware capabilities are the most important thing as we know most Android phones can sideload GCam so software can be done by third parties and that is the main Pixel trick. Just have the right app for the right job if you feel it does it better than the stock app. That is why the iphone with its superior hardware wins this comparison.
@SoldierKnowsBest5 жыл бұрын
I appreciate your take. For these comparisons, I don't want to alter the stock experience that every user will have with the phone. Yes, I could've loaded every picture into Lightroom and made them look better, but every user isn't going to do that. To give a fair take on the phones, I prefer to show what the company chose to put into their phones as a starting point.
