It seems you're really liking that stove/grill. You've been using it on several recent videos. You're really tempting me to get one. Much more portable than a Smokey Joe, lol! The long-handled titanium spoon is pretty useful too. I almost ordered one once, but passed on it. I may have to reconsider. Your bacon and eggs looked delicious, although I prefer my eggs cooked in butter. Thanks for sharing your new Apple toy as well.

It has pros and cons. The primary pros being AF/AE and image stabilization. The auto focus seems amazing. The auto exposure is good and both can be locked/moved though I didn't do that as wanted to show auto only video. Like the fire triangle exposure has one. Shutter/ISO/Aperture. For example in the video I used the AX53 to shoot the intro speech and assembly of the rig. I have multiple such rigs and accessories. Maybe another video? Also want to do an audio test of multiple mics etc etc of the 11. In any case a part of my face was blown out because the sun was striking me in one area causing overexposure. The solution is to activate the exposure zebras (lines showing over exposure). I can move the exposure point using the touch screen (the iPhone can do the same). But this may overly darken some areas. I have an adjustable ND filter (sun glasses for a camera). I could screw that on and adjust the shutter speed. Shooting 30 fps so would use 1/60 shutter speed. However there is the problem. If the sun should be blocked by a tree as it (or rather the earth) moves now I have to adjust everything again. Out in the full sun this isn't an issue. So often I say screw it..... just KZbin not filming a wedding. LOL! But the iPhone does much of this better on it's own. However other cameras have good auto focus and exposure as well. The primary down side to the phone or a Gopro (most camcorders as well) is the small light/image sensor. So much smaller than the one in my Nikon D5300 (which has no usable AF in video or focus peaking to lock that in easily manually). So the dynamic range and low light will be limited. The iPhone is using computational photography however sometimes it just screws up. Doesn't seem to capture fire colors properly at night. Has lots on noise in the shadows (small sensor) in low light. But the iPhone 11 is the best cellphone camera I have seen for video. It's image stabilization is good as well and this is a big deal. It does seem like the perfect outdoors content camera is an impossible dream. I have been looking at the Sony A6400 for tripod use. Need something to replace my old D5300 as it's a PITA to shoot video but like the look of a larger sensor.

The video and sound quality is great for a phone camera. Never owned an IPhone, just Samsungs. Wondering how long you can film, how much it sucks up your battery and if you had to get a seperate Micro card to put in your phone? Never tried filming on any of my phones. Yum to the Bacon once again!

Apple dont accept micro sd cards.
@MegaWoodswalker5 жыл бұрын
I didn't do any timed tests but the battery life shooting video seemed ok. I am sure if this was done in 4K it could of been more taxing on the battery/memory as is the case with my other dedicated cameras. No Micro sd cards for Apple (always disliked that) but there are options which allows files to be transferred to a card on the fly. It helps spending the extra 50 to get the 128 gig version.

@@A.Salgado7 just got the iPhone 11 a couple weeks ago and I'm loving it! iMessage is outstanding, there is no comparison to sms. It also solved the Bluetooth display issue I'd been having for the past year or so. The audio on the iPhone wasn’t good at all. Maybe it’s the mike ? The final overhead was anemic ?
@MegaWoodswalker5 жыл бұрын
The overhead shot was native (just the phone) no external mic.I think the native audio for a phone when used in the woods given all the background wind noise etc etc is ok (within the context of a cellphone) but an external shotgun or better yet a lav sounds better.
