best comparison of these 2 on KZbin - thanks! my conclusion is different from most of the commenters because i feel the 12 does bokeh and portrait somewhat inaccurately, with some nearby elements not in focus and also some errant blurry elements (especially around hairs, eyelashes, and other fine objects). you see it often in this video in photos involving people, animals, and flowers. and so i'm opting for the 12 Pro instead.

Great video. QUICK TIP: for anyone trying to decide. If you r going with an unlocked phone and want at least 128gb it's literally only $120 difference to have that extra telephoto and slight advantage on some night portrait shots. With that said, man, still a tough call cause they r so close, could use that $120 to buy good case and other accessories.

If you’re not a videographer who uses smartphones from time to time to fill in some iphones shots to their videos, go with the iphone12. For videographers, getting low light shots can be useful for creative shots and what not from iphone12 pro. Both phones are great. Details of shots varies from what a person is looking for.

Great review. The fact that you have to A/B them to even tell and even then many of these were a toss up makes me think that the regular 12 is pretty great. The pro stands out in a few places but there were actually a few that I preferred the 12! First shot of the dog was better (to my eyes) and some of the portrait mode shots looked more realistic on the 12. The pro does have the overall edge and with the extra 64g it narrows the gap in price/value.

Out of all the categories that you covered with this comparison, I'm going to lean towards the iPhone 12 Pro, at times I thought that the iPhone 12 was pretty darn close to competing, but still the iPhone 12 Pro had the edge. The iPhone 12 Pro had that extra detail in every category. iPhone 12 holds its own but after watching this video I would go with the iPhone 12 Pro. Covered a lot laid out a bunch of information to convince me that's where I would spend my money. Great content, great video, great music thank you 👍👊✌️

Main difference is Telephoto camera (Not used often) and Lidar scanner - Portrait Mode in low light and AR (Which is again not used often) Iphone 12 is the better option when u want to save yourself money (and buy the accessories) and get the best.

No significantly noticeable difference to me. The Pro has portrait night mode, which helps portrait shots in low light, but not sure how often you expect to do that.

I bought the 12 pro, and it's good, but yeah not quite as impressed as I'd hoped. I heard the telephoto lens is only active in good lighting anyway. It seems the only difference is more detail at long range shots in the daytime, and faster focusing at night due to the lidar sensor. Given the size of the pro...a bit harder to do one handed, considering switching to the mini. Also heard the pro has 6 GB RAM vs. 4 GB for the 12, and 12 mini. The extra 2 GB RAM may help with 5G data streaming, so perhaps a bit of future proofing with the pro, but again not sure it's worth it.

Thanks, glad it's helpful. Both are the same size, so will feel the same in that regard. The Pro is heavier with stainless steel edges, so if you prefer a heavier phone then you'll like the Pro. I personally prefer the build of the Pro.
