Problem with Android device's is that they perform better when they are new but with the passing time like 1 or 2 year's their performance decreases whereas the Apple stays consistent time doesn't affect it's performance.

People tend to forget that opening the app isn’t only with cpu but the memory and ram used, and iphone with LPDDR4x vs samsung 5x, memory samsung ufs 4.0 vs iphone with much slower nand, and still iphone doing great job keeping up with occasional slow downs is great for me

No shocks here. SD8G2 got a massive GPU upgrade so a 2.5 year old device has zero chance of beating the latest phones. As for Geekbench, that is for hundreds of different use-cases, not just app opening. And app-opening is more to do with RAM and storage speeds, so a 2.5-y-o phone should be destroyed by 2023 Androids with the latest 5X RAM and UFS 4.0. In reality the iPhone did well. Now try an iPhone 14PM versus the S20U, a 2.5-y-o Samsung device. No idea how that will go as my S20U has aged really well.

@@simonmclovin not really, 14 pro and s23 are comparable because they have the same chip technology. It's like the next iPhone will come with the 3nm chipset. So, comparing it with this s23 won't be fair. Comparing it with s24 which is likely to come with the same 3nm is fair. So usually for comparing Samsung and Apple phones, you compare the Feb Samsung model to last years Apple model

No, they're not even close. In direct comparison most apps aren't far apart, but in daily usage you'll notice the difference way more. Also, that 120 Hertz display is nice, but it doesn't have anything to do with how fast everything works.

Benchmarks do mean a lot. But most of the comparisons where games or GPU intensive apps, and the Qualcomm 8 Gen 2 is leading for 2023 and destroys the iPhone. Geekbench 6 mix additional coprocessors aside of CPU in the mix, so probably apps that rely more on the NPU or ISP May fare better on the iPhone, and just very slightly, and that’s what the Geekbench 6 explains.

It does not destroy at all, the Apps are more optimized on the iPhone than on Android, in real tests with games the iPhone was in front, no matter the power of your GPU if the system does not know how to manage, Android is deficient in APIs and this makes it very difficult to use the power of the hardware efficiently.

Yes same I have the regular 12 and I feel like now I wanna try something new I grew up around apple devices my first iPad was the mini 3 and my first phone was the iPhone 6s back in junior high then around high school I got the XR and the iPad 9th generation then after I got the iPhone 12 during my senior year and now I wanna try something new and what better phone to try in the android ecosystem then Samsung lol it’s gonna be hard since I’m used to FaceTime and iMessage and iMessage games and group texts and all those Apple ecosystem benefits you get while using an apple device I love apple I even have their AirPods Pro’s that I lost and now I have the 2nd gen AirPods lol I’m very deep into the ecosystem and I love it but it’s gonna be hard to switch phones from iOS to android but I feel like its time to try something new since recently there hasn’t been many big changes to most Phones nowadays like how it used to be

the Apple window is 3-4 years of updates . if you update on the 4th year it usually slows down your iPhone. I've experienced this with every iPhone i had. I'm using the iPhone Xr now and i installed the update in September/ October 2022 and it slowed down like a Bish!!!

Samsung is just way faster but I bought ip12 anyway. You cant reduce animation speed in iOS so if you slow down the animations on Samsung the iphone will feel much more slower. I have a ipad with m1 its much faster then my pixel 7 in theory but in real life the animations are slow and the screen is slow so pixel 7 feels way faster

IIIFFFF Apple put a 120hz and finger print sensor on an iPhone base model, I'd easily buy it just to put it in the rotation with my other phones, just to make the wife happy that I'm in apple's messaging and her groups and all that.
