While I do think that the technology is getting very good in phone cameras, the one thing they can never replace is the experience of a real camera. Good shots man. It's nice to see you getting back to your roots with the channel. I've enjoyed the channel over the years so thanks!

I just upgraded to the iPhone 13 Pro after shooting with Android for years. Like my Android and more, the iPhone is a great camera for street photography. I know many will say it’s not a “traditional” camera, and for the record I still shoot with those. However I love the portability and freedom of not lugging equipment that screams “photographer” on the street. BTW, those were some sweet shots you captured of the ATL. Peace!

I use the 13 pro max a lot of street photography specially on days where I don’t feel like taking my actual camera out the photos you can pull out of it are amazing

As a former portrait and wedding photographer, I have the "real" gear. Sure, there's a difference if you're looking for perfection. But do all photos have to be super sharp? It's all about style. There are some old film photographers that are highly regarded for their imperfect and sometimes blurry photos. My 13 Pro Max story... I used only this on a London trip and came home with amazing photos! The largest I've printed is 16x20. If you get up close to it, you can see a little muddiness, but I love it! I then took my DSLR on my next trip with 35mm and 85mm lenses. It was such a pain that I didn't take as many photos. The only shot I'm glad I had it for was the Harvest moon rising over Tower Bridge. The DSLR is staying home next time. It's just not worth the hassle of lugging around the extra weight when the end goal is purely for personal use. I'd rather lighten the load, blend in, and enjoy the adventure.

Yes, Cartier-Bressons would all be rubbish if you only consider the image quality and sharpness. With a recent smartphone you even have better quality in your pocket. Focus on image quality may be important as professional but as amateur photographer it's much less important. The advantage of smartphones for street photography is their discretion.

Since November, I have the iPhone 11 Pro and I challenged myself to take my landscape photos only with this one. I use a third party application to have RAW format and then I export the photos taken on my IMac and I develop them with Lightroom. I must admit that I am pleasantly surprised at the result! Admittedly, it does not have the same rendering, the same sharpness, nor the same ease in terms of processing on Lightroom as with our cameras, but it's already not bad I think.

Experience is irrelevant, it's all about the quality of the images. It's getting harder and harder to justify buying an actual camera over a phone. They have catched up.

Hey. I upgraded from the iPhone XR to the iPhone 13 pro in alpine green. I am so happy with it. I just wish they would include the charging brick. Other than that, I am definitely pleased with it. The cameras are awesome. I took some photos of my dad’s birthday celebration yesterday and didn’t want to bring my regular camera. The iPhone did well. I posted some of them on my social media. I shoot with the iPhone every day and it is a lot of fun. Most of the time I carry it in my hand as the next shot is usually only a few steps away. And there is basically no sharpness problem due to the short focal length. The ultrawide and the ‚tele‘ don‘t hurt either. Also people seem to have no issue, when you fumble with an iPhone directly infront of their nose. ;-)

As a Photographer , i have used iPhone 13 Pro (with RAW images) but i can definitely say its not even close to OnePlus 9 Pro / Galaxy S21 Ultra camera quality. OnePlus take way more details (12bit raw) and you will get PRO Manual Control for RAW Shooting ( ISO, Shutter speed,WB,EV) all these are missing in iPhone 🙏
