13 pro for me I’d consider the pro max if it wasn’t so heavy and bulky! And when we can use the full screen like for reading articles it’s not larger not filling the screen. So same as 13 pro

I am on Apple's upgrade program...so a new phone every year and no price change per month. I am thinking going from the 12 Pro Max to the 13 Pro is what I want to do. I am nervous to give up the larger screen...but I am tired of needing a pop socket to use the phone comfortably around the house.

I reckon you should go for the 13 Pro. It might take you a couple of weeks to adjust to the smaller screen, but after a year of using it you'll learn if you like the smaller form factor or not. Then when it's time to upgrade again, you can make a decision about which one to go for then! It's only a year to wait if you don't like it, and I think you might enjoy the Pro more! I personally go for the Pro over the Pro Max 👍🏼

Just upgraded my Wife's iPhone 8+ to the 13 Pro & she loves it! Her 1st day I told her there was No use in bringing her charger to work. She got 10hrs 54min on screen time with 29% battery left into day #2! All she does is stream KZbin vids w/ 5g off. I thought my Note 10 Plus was still a beast 2yrs later with all day battery life but not! I was thinking of getting the 13 Pro Max but I'm a wait for the 14 Pro Max... First time I am using a Pro as opposed to the Max and I must say that the Pro is the easier one to handle in every way. I picked up the 13 pro blue 512GB, while still having the 12 pro max (jailbroken iso 14.1) blue 512GB. I went with the pro this year because it has all the features of the max, which wasn't the case with the 12. I'm holding onto the 12 and seeing if a jailbreak materializes for iOS 15- if so I'll sell the 12 and get about 1000 dollars for it. It makes it much more palatable to upgrade every year.

I rather invest in the actual phones, it helps with the resale value in my experience too. I´ll probably go for 1TB option with the 14 pro, and sell the 13 pro. My 12 pro max got me 1000 dollars, when I sold it..

@@snowfox7739 I like having my data, etc always at my fingertips and in my actual possession with no internet connection required. Perhaps, I been really lucky selling my iphones every year. The resales usually pays more or less half the cost of the new iphone each year. Since I'm not paying for icloud, that money goes toward the cost of the larger storage. In addition, I believe the fact that I have always kept the phones in pristine / like new condition has helped greatly with the resale value.

Good review but for those reading the comments on the fence about some of these options. The 120hz is not really noticeable unless you're gaming or scrolling through some Social Media sites. You can see it on Samsung devices. Magsafe is total garbage! It's 3 times as slow as lighting charging (also slow) so don't fall for all those magsafe accessories. The camera system is fantastic but if you have the 12 Pro series no need to jump to the 13 Pro's. If you're coming from a high end Samsung this phone will not blow you away. I switched to this from the Note and not being able to customize is annoying. I'm deep into the Apple ecosystem though so this is where I need to be.

I enjoyed your video. It's not just enthusiasts that wanted pro motion. It's something a lot of us have wanted for a long time now. You forgot to mention that despite the notch is smaller it's also deeper. Also, they didn't make use of the extra space with battery percentage. What's the point in making it smaller if they don't make use of it. And the 21 ultra is brighter than the iPhone 13 range and considerably so. A couple of hundred bits more as it stands.

I think Apple could have made more use of the space, and maybe they will yet. But you still get the perk of having a larger screen to body ratio. The notch is now less intrusive on your display, so movies and gaming is more enjoyable etc. I think that’s the point. Also the Pros are brighter than the Ultra. The ultra has a higher peak brightness for HDR only, but the iPhones are brighter for general content because the typical brightness is higher. It’s quite noticeable

That’s not quite true. The difference is that the 128 GB models are limited to 1080p ProRes video, whilst the higher storage models can record it in 4K

Great vid as always. Excellent job! My take on this, the Pro should have been a 6.3 or 6.4 inch display unit. The 6.1 inch is a bit small for my fatty thumb. Then the Pro Max is a heavy one, the display size is great but the weight is just heavy. But if given a chance, I would use the Pro Max over the Pro for the battery life and screen display. Hopefully one day I could.

So your phone isn't quite old enough yet to make an upgrade 'obvious', which means you need to decide how much you 'want' an upgrade first of all. But in terms of the improvements, you'll see a big gain. You'll get a much bigger, brighter OLED display, a much faster phone, better cameras, a huge improvement with battery life, 5G support, MagSafe (which is super handy)...there's enough here that you'll notice a big upgrade. If you're money conscious, wait another year. If not, or if you really want a new phone now, there's plenty to enjoy with an upgrade!

Even the Pro is quite heavy, so i'd be wary of the Pro Max. You'll get used to the slight drop in screen size, but be grateful for the lighter weight!

if its any consolidation i chose the 13 pro because you cant comfortably use the pro max in your bed single handedly. just too big for a phone, it is closer to a tablet. usabilty is important.

I'd say to go for the Pro. Then if you find you're still wanting more, still wanting a bigger screen, you have your answer for the next upgrade. If you go straight for the Max then you've got no room to go up, only back. Better to get the Pro and possibly want a bit more next time, than to get the Max and really regret it! *edit: especially since your display is smaller than 6.1" now. The Pro should feel like a huge upgrade as it is!

i tried to go for 13 pro, my hands bumped into the camera lens all the time. its because the camera lenses got bigger. But pro max has the best battery and screen is bigger. So i would never go for regular pro.

I say I like big phones but I never really had any so maybe what's best is just go with the pro

Not really. You content looks a little bit bigger on the Max, that's it, more so than seeing more on the screen I find (with social media). So I think the Pro is a better choice

I think if you run multiple tests you'd eventually have some numbers that are higher on the Max. There's no substantial difference really. It's the same hardware remember, and the Pro has fewer pixels to run graphics for, so not a surprising result overall

Megapixel count isn't everything, there are so many other factors: aperture, lens quality, sensor size, sensor quality, and (perhaps most importantly) the ISP and software enhancements. Lots of things have changed since the 8 Plus!

Some helpful tidbits, but also plenty of misinformation in this review, unfortunately. It'll have you believe these iPhones have the brightest display on the market and that the competition isn't also IP68. Also, any side-by-side speed test will illustrate that these are *not* the fastest smartphones on the market as claimed. To say they have the highest benchmark scores would have been accurate, but "fastest" is objectively false.

At the time of the video, they were the brightest displays. Also "IP68" certification is simply a minimum requirement. There is room within this specification for one smartphone to be rated to greater depths than another - no other smartphone at the time was proven to be as great a depth as these phones. There are also many ways to measure speed so I don't think there is anything false about any claims in the video - it depends on which comparisons you want to make!
