I loved the v10 with that double screen which led me survive an entire year in college without a laptop. The main screen was enormous, and as lg’s QSlide apps feature can draw applets over other apps like a window, it made the phone very dependable for serious work, especially things like calculator. It was my only device during my first year at college - all assignments, done all video editing, made reports, PPTs, designs with just that phone as I didn’t have a laptop. It was a bummer when they discontinued it after v20, I now have an iPhone 13 but it’s nowhere near how v10 used to be in fluid multitasking on a mobile device. The second screen used to intelligently show the most important apps/ functions I needed to switch, more like a companion, and if needed there was always QSlide apps to do some quick jotting or calculation without getting out of the current screen.

@@herewegoagain4041 The v10's support got discontinued. And that old snapdragon chip fried eventually while charging and working - I basically used it until it literally died. I expected that this feature would naturally be implemented in all screen phones but it didn't happen. By that time LG v40 or any other phone didn't have that feature anymore.

I almost bought this phone brand new in late 2017 (or was it the V20?) For $700.in my country that is a very substantial sum. Just couldn't justify it but I was willing to fork the same amount on a new s7 lol Fortunately I can't find stocks in our area and I didn't want to jump straight to S8 yet). So I looked online and found old phones 📱 used. Immediately bought an S4 for $100 or so and a ton of others. 5 months later bought used Japan 🇯🇵 🗾 unit S6 Edge which I am typing this on. 4 and half years later this phone still works though on its last legs now as TikTok 🎵 ruined. Bought a used g4 from China 🇨🇳 few months ago for $30 lol. Go buying g5 next month but I found out v10 has a better camera 📹 so I'll probably buy that first. I will never spend $700 on a phone ever

@@karunanidhinirajkamal6379 shouldn't you be using foldables instead? TikTok 🎵 fried my S6 Edge since it only had 90 minutes sot with that app (3 hours normally like KZbin etc). At the risk of exploding 💥 I charged it while using and brightness set to minimum. This heat up the phone at lot 2630some parts of the screen can no longer be used after a few minutes. I ether have to rotate it or turn vid screen off for a few minutes and I'm not a fan of rotation unless I'm watching a video. After a year I started noticing my head and eyes hurting when I use the phone. Took me awhile to realize I've been using it at minimum brightness for a year while watching TikTok 🎵 and the pain went away when I started to return to normal brightness. I hate Samsung for not upgrading the S6 Edge to oreo so the resolution can be reduced to 1080p like in s7 as permanent 2K is drag on the battery. So I started hating Samsung but damn the phone is tough. I'll still buy their phones but used. Samsung and TikTok 🎵 almost destroyed my eyesight 🤓! 😠👎 😂

Im probably not the average user but I hate hole punches and teardrops. Just went from a phone with a popup camera to one with a hole punch and I definitely miss having the full screen (mostly for video). The "island" seems like it would be useful but honestly it just seems like they needed an excuse for the huge hole punch. Just give me an island that's software and usable screen otherwise.

Coming from note 9 to 14 pro max I can’t stand this phone for media consumption. The note 9 is way better even the corners are less rounded which very annoying and eats video real estate + notch and it has actually less resolution than the note 9.

I never left either system my secondary phone was iphone 6s since 2015 and it was perfect. I didn't know the 14 had this much bugs and problems but I might get the new sony phone later.

I had the V10 and the software was innovative, but the hardware (display issues, overheating cpu issues) was terrible. I switched to LG G5, which also had it‘s nice gimmicks, but again display burn-in issues. And remember actually LG built an iPhone (Prada Phone) before Apple did, so the were pretty innovative. I think if LG could build smartphone hardware in Samsung build quality and with LG software, they would be unbeatable in the Android world.

They are both very different though. Apples one is for notifications and tracking things in a more animated way that blends into the bigger display. The other one is just a slab on top for selecting apps or maybe showing notifications to a much lesser degree. It's as they stated like what Samsung did with notifications with their edge display.

i had the opportunity to use lg v10 for 4 years i was the coolest guy in my group with this phone during the time of the phone camera 9/10 - it also had the snap feature which is still missing in iphone built quality- 8/10 although plastic back, sides were steel. it felt amazing in hands battery- excellent al day long even with second screen on full time (it used to distract me a lot) lol performance- amazing for 4 years- 64gb 4gb ram i would love to buy LG devices ; its a shame they backed off two screen phone in 2015 was the coolest thing ever back then

Useless on a phone with chunky bezels top and bottom, the whole point of the dynamic island is to make the phone look like it's all screen and hide the camera. This just creates less screen real estate for content.

On the iPhone it's a way to hide/add to the pill design while showing more information across multiple apps. The LG doesn't change shape, it doesn't show anything but a few apps and media controls.
