Great video! I also find myself curious to try the S23U full time. For me, my 13PM is great obviously, but also it's starting to feel bland after 10+ years on iPhone. I think if Apple focuses on software being less restrictive (allowing TRUE multitasking, greater support for 3rd party apps, customization) then we could see renewed interest. They have the best hardware imo, and foldables is an easy avenue for them to enter to gain excitement in the tech community again. I guess we're just hoping for more of what's on the other side.

Yeah for sure. Been using the iPhone as my main device since the 4S and I'm just starting to find the experience getting a little stale at this point. I feel it's more of the ecosystem that's keeping me around than the device itself.

Once you're so deep into the Apple ecosystem, you just can't switch one component to another platform. I bought the S23u and I lost far more than I gained. AirPods, AirTags, AirDrop, iMessage, Apple Watch, Find My (Tracking my kid), FaceTime, synergy with Mac and iPad. The nicer S3u just made everything worse for me. Returned it after 13 days.

The battery life decline from the 13PM to the 14PM is definitely software related… the 13PM life went way down with iOS 16 as well. It’s definitely not the AOD either… you can turn that off and the battery life still isn’t great. Great video!

@@jebaker2 it is also and illusion its two holes one for the camera the ither is the faceid sensor the pixels that separate the two are just turned off via software which in theory using less pixels on an oled saves battery but i think it causing more drain and im sure it requires power to have them off

Totally agree with you. I had the 14 pro max but returned it because of the bugs when it first came out and got the pixel 7pro instead and I love how smooth the pixel is but battery life is garbage. Hopefully I can pick up the s23 ultra soon and get rid of my pixel. Right now for the last week or so I switched back to my 13 pro max and the battery life is so amazing that I don't have to worry about it on the pixel I feel like I had battery anxiety lol.

I don't really like the dinamic island. I think that the pop up functionality could have been implemented with the standard notch, and take less screen space.

long time apple user and switched to S23 - a change in configuring the S23 was a challenge. few features on the iphone I like better BUT the s23 is a better phone. I doubt I will go back to iphone - only if I go back to a apple PC.

I am at that crossroads too. I have the watch, phone, AirPods etc but feel apple is the same old every time. Will they keep me depends on whether I can give up the ecosystem really. I want to try S23U.

Samsung is light years ahead in longetivity. I upgraded from s10+ to s23 ultra but I did not give s10+ in trade in. I gave it to one of my family member as it is good as new ☺️☺️

I watch your video about iPhone 14 pro max and I agree absolutely with you .I am user of 14 pro max since 01/01/2023 and for the first 6 months the battery is ok.After 1 1/2 months from 100 % drops down to 97 % .Of course I am not technician but at the moment the battery performance is same with my previous iPhone 11 Pro Max .As telephone ,ok is very nice but for the money how I spend before 9 1/2 months ago and especially for the battery performance it is not for the iPhone 14 pro max .Anyway awaiting for any update the 17 pro max 😢😢😢

Idk if it’s just me, I hate how I randomly lose my ability to make or receive calls even though I have service/bars. Only fix is to restart it which is frustrating. Software updates haven’t fixed the issue!!!!

Coming from an iPhone 11...the 14Pro Max is a huge upgrade. Apple ecosystem is too good for me. Not perfect, but really good. And I'm into deep. iPhone user since the first one.

battery drains faster than the iPhone 13 pro max. plus the dynamic island cut outs more than the notch on landscape video. The camera is good but I dislike you can’t close to the subject you gotta move further away to focus compared to the 13 pro. overall I like it.

Do you have a DND profile on? That's the only way it shuts off at night if I'm not mistaken.

My 14pm and all my other iphones the stainless steel is relatively good but it does get scratched fairly easy for me and im ocd with my tech. I cant wait for the matte titanium on the 15 and usb c with cleaner software and some more widgets and easier customization

Man it's crazy you made this video..I've used iphones since the 3g..I moved quickly to android after jailbreaking just wasn't exciting enough..3-4 months ago I said ya know what..it's time for a change .hello iphone 13 pro max..not long later let's go 14 pro max..I really enjoy the iphone..pay no mind this entire time I've had an android around always..so I gave my wife my s22 ultra. Ordered a zfold 3 love that device, just is more of a novelty to me..but anyways..I just upgraded from the zf3 to the s23 ultra.. iphone team android..I rock both..not always both on me at once..but I have a problem lol..I do some reviews try to pass good information..we have come along way..I'm breaking lose from the iphone for a while..let's go s23 ultra..great vid

Certainly a few bugs showing more in iOS. Development into larger features has shaken up a smooth interface. Being an android user for years but also seen the glitches and problems that can arise on this platform. I think when you are spending a lot of money on these types of phones you don’t expect to encounter problems like this for long.

The s23 ultra is the best phone I've ever used and owned coming from the s10 plus and why i gave the a53 to my mother. The Samsung s23 ultra is better than the iPhone 14 pro max and Pixel no comparison, and I've used all 3. For those of us who know tech, we always knew Samsung was way more fun to use with more capabilities than the iPhone. I used to be an apple sheep many, many years ago, and then I transitioned and never went back. I remember apple phones being the most boring limited phones I've used. The only thing I use on my old iPhone 6s is the imessage period. Even using the 14 pro max irritates me because my s23 ultra does way more. Also, the camera is way better than the iPhone and more fun unlimited features. Now, with the pixel, I don't prefer the operating system, but I respect the pixel camera. Only gripe I have is the missing micro SD card. When it comes to those things like edge panel multi tasking, and 10 x and hdr 10 video , all those unlimited features are close to perfect. The s23 ultra is the most value for the money, no comparison!

You know I rock with you on most of your reviews, but I cant fully agree with you here on 1 thing. For me the battery life has been good as I also came from the 13PM to the 14PM, but I probably don't use the phone as much daily as you do. The camera has been great and I do use the AOD so I am loving the phone and the only reason I will be upgrading to 15PM will be for USB C.

Have s22+ and iPhone 13 Pro max(main phone). Tried the s23 ultra, but couldn’t quite embrace the move back to android. I was expecting a bit better battery life on the s23 and the squared corners turned out to be pretty annoying. Also, face recognition on iPhone wins over the fingerprint/pin unlock on the Samsung hands down. Then there’s my Apple Watch features. Maybe the s24+ and new galaxy watch will be enough to make me move back.

Yeah but you got to remember most people have a smartwatch so they're not going to stare at the phone when something like a notification comes up or directions or any of that stuff cuz your smartwatch does that it's pretty cool though dynamic Island I just wish they did more with it and you can get dynamic Island that's better on Android look it up you can change the size of it you can move it you can do all kinds of stuff with it

I switched to the s23 ultra and after a month went and got the iPhone 14 pro max. Main reason was messaging and picture and video quality when sending to friends. Until Samsung get that right and tweaked. I can’t say I’ll go back. iPhone all the way. It just works. Quality is there and apps all work perfectly. No freeezing and glitching like the Samsung.

I think iPhone AOD is better because it gives you more information like moon phases and dual Islamic calendar and sunrise and sunset time. Samsung doesn’t give that.

To be honest, I really like my 14PM, but I have to agree battery was much better on my 13PM and I felt the cameras were too., but I do have to say, iOS 16 has been a huge step backwards, super buggy, a lot of lag, etc. just kills the user experience.
