I'm using my Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus still and we should have 2+ years of security updates to support it. After that I'll basically be forced to trade in with Samsung on a S20, S21, Note 20 and only pay $300 or so on a $11-$20 monthly payment plan. I checked my S10+ for a S20+ and it was kocking off $550 total with all discounts and trade-in applied which is pretty good. I only spent $291 on my S10+ Having 4+ years support with good trade in deals directly from Samsung is just way to good to pass up. But I'm definitely not wanting to change phones until I have to. My S10+ still holds up to the current competition very well for 3 year old flagship.

I see so many people comment this and I always feel the need to defend. While some things are a bit flawed like maybe the charger and headphones recently but stuff like headphone Jacks really are an advancement. Like Apple said themselves if we truly want to go into a world where wireless headphones are the normal and they can start shipping AirPods I’m the box instead of the cable headphones they really do need to just completely get rid of the headphone Jack. And they didn’t even say wired headphones are completely unusable as they’re trying to help those who do like them with the dongle and headphones that connect straight into the charging port. As well as that think of it in comparison to other thing, how many tv’s now have AV connections? A lot don’t cause they just don’t need to. This might be a bit of an exaggeration but Nobody is currently using products that require AV connection and nobody is making products that require them so why keep it? Another example is video games and memory cards. Memory cards used to be very important if you ever wanted to not need to beat the whole game in one sitting and pickup where you left off if you ever need to turn the console off. But now that problem is completely gone thanks to consoles having storage directly in them so why would the company’s that make consoles as well as those who made the memory cards keep them around? It’s just a necessity to remove what’s old to bring in something new.

Choosing a phone ultimately comes down to preference. What is “better” or “best” is subjective to the person. I use iPhone because it’s better for me, and best for what I need in a phone. Others choose Android, because it fits their needs. Android has a TON of different types of phones, to fit others’ needs. Want a strict gaming phone? Android has it. Want a crazy big battery? Android has a phone. iPhone works for me, because I want a more stable, smoother, secure device that has a very good camera system, and an optimized ecosystem and operating system. Customization isn’t a huge thing for me; I don’t really care at all about that. Many Android phone makers make great phones that offer more in specific areas, and I can see the appeal for people, and there’s nothing wrong with that. You do you. Many people want to customize their phone right down to its code, and that’s awesome! In addition, Android phones, both good and bad, offers the latest hardware and software features on a phone, sometimes long before Apple, and sometimes to my annoyance (it took HOW LONG before Apple added Swype, as well as cut and paste to its keyboard?!). But again, those trade-offs aren’t as important to me. Apple’s software and security updates are also more frequent, and you will receive them for far longer than most phones running on Android… though some Android phones are getting better at this. I also like Apple’s transparency and stance on data and privacy more than Google’s. Again, these things are more important to me. Ultimately, whatever phone you choose, just be thankful that technology is where it is today. All phones and operating systems have pros and cons to them. It’s your job to add them up, and figure out what you’re willing to live with, and which one will work best for you. That said, even the worst-perceived cell phone is amazing at what it can do, and the information we have in literally the palm of our hands, has never been where it is today, in all of human history. Every phone you buy now will do what you want it to do in the vast majority of cases, and will get you to where you want to go. In all, iOS and Android are very refined and polished services at this point, and are both great options.

If you watched more of his videos Marques would disagree with you on that lol. He explains how it's silly to look for people/reviewers that aren't biased as that's the point of the review, i.e. to see what that particular reviewer likes & dislikes & how their experience was. The thing about following specific reviewers is to calibrate your opinions to their biases, e.g. you know this reviewer has the opposite design sense to yours (like flat vs curved edge screens), so when they dislike the design you know you'll probably like it lol _"If you want an unbiased review then just look at the spec sheet"_ - just numbers on paper, no critiques or observations If they were unbiased they would not highlight the bad-for-consumers business decisions that these companies like to do
@CallMeVidd3 жыл бұрын
@@tubester358 How does highlighting anti consumer practices make them biased? If anything someone biased towards a product would hide it's downsies. And Marques and Arun are about as unbiased as rewievers get. Of course people will always have their opinon, but they always try to be objective and always make clear if something they say is just personal preference
@watchreport3 жыл бұрын
People confuse bias with honesty, and there is a difference. Everyone has a bias. The issue that comes into play is if you let your bias control objectivity. As a reviewer, you do state your likes and dislikes but you also need to highlight the good of the product (no matter what the product is) and not try and make a decision for the viewer. The viewer will make their own mind up with the images and info given to them. All you’re doing as a reviewer is giving your opinion and experience with said product. There are obviously some that let their bias get to them-take Lew from unbox therapy as an example. He has really let his bias for Android and his issue with Apple cloud his coverage of Apple products. Sometimes I feel he does it as that’s what people expect but you can always tell he loves dogging on the product.
@tubester3583 жыл бұрын
@@CallMeVidd They are biased towards their personal values which includes what benefits them and their viewers. I never said *"biased towards the product"* , you just added that yourself And like I said, it is in their words that they're no unbiased (as human beings) and if you think they aren't they're unintentionally manipulating you You can say they're being objective about pointing out observations, but people with a different bias may observe things that they find important which another reviewer doesn't even think about and therefore doesn't even point out As highlighted in Watch Report's comment, you're thinking of honesty & clarity which I agree with, I love Marques's content for the quality & clarity (from thumbnail to title to content), been watching these for nearly a decade
