Personally I think the only disadvantage for e-sims is that they're a little harder to switch from one phone to another. While with a physical sim you could just pull it out and put it in your new phone, with e-sims it depends from carrier to carrier. For Airtel, you have to send a text to 121, wait for a confirmation, confirm again on a confirmation call, and then wait for a QR code to be sent to you to scan.
