Quite a lot of the footage was taken on overcast days in fairly poor light, but that is the real world. Footage has been clearer since in better-lit days, it's a shame it's not always sunny!

The audio of DJI is better actually. With the Iphone the backgroud looks more blurried. Wow during night the difference is crazy! The Action mode activated in the Iphone has some downside though. Very nice comparison Martin.

I’m honestly shocked at the dji action 4 because I got it right when it came out I was so worried I gave into some hype but no the action 4 is honestly amazing! The adventure bundle is so affordable with three battery’s and a battery holder and selfie stick

I love the iPhone, I am still rocking the 13 Pro. I’ve been with them since my Blackberry Bold - starting with the iPhone 4S. Side-by-side though, for me, it’s the DJI for the win.

Very thorough testing and comparison, Martin. Appreciate you putting this together, it's a bit of work. Surprised that the iPhone audio and colors are somewhat disappointing. Stability for a phone seems more than good enough. DJI still the choice for action footage.

You have a lot of good kit there mate. Most of the clips looked good to me. The phone tends to do a close up view of your face sometimes. Not saying this is a bad thing 😂 I'll have to try reducing stabilisation settings in low light on my gopro. It doesn't like the dark.

I continue to be impressed with the Action 4. If and when my GoPro dies I will probably be making the switch. Great comparison Martin. The phone is pretty good, but for outdoor activities action cameras are king.

Thanks Sage, a dedicated unit should always win but the iPhone put up a good effort seeing as though it's multi-functional. When your GoPro gives up the ghost I'd certainly recommend the Action 4 👌

DJI was very nice. I am currently using Iphone 14 Pro and Gopro 9. I found if it is one clip I use the Iphone. If multiple clips or race I use the Gopro if I plan to do lots of editing. The Iphone tends to work better in my dark gym and quick videos such as workouts which upload same day. Thanks for sharing the info. I want to get one of the DJI action 4 and one of their drones.

I'll probably do the same Richard, one or two clips, use the phone, anything more use the Action 4. Hopefully, you'll get one of their drones, I can recommend the Mini 3 Pro 👌

Nice video, I’m assuming you’re using the front facing camera for the iPhone 15 because I know 100% for sure the rear cameras have way better nighttime video blowing any action camera out of the water. 4:30

Thanks, it was the rear camera used throughout with the iPhone, I need to use it more at night to see if quality changes significantly in different nighttime conditions.

I think the action 4 look better, as a runner myself. The action 4 is the camera to use. The Iphone is good, but not as good as the action 4.

Usual settings for me on a run - 4k/16:9, 30fps, Rock Steady & change depending on conditions or what I want to shoot 👍
