In my review video I called the iPhone 15 the best iPhone in years thanks to the big upgrades and improvements it brought to the non pro iPhone line. However now that the iPhone 15 is out, last year’s iPhone 14 has become more affordable. And the question is, if you’re picking between these two phones, do you save some cash and go for the 14 or is it worth spending extra to get the new iPhone 15 instead? If i consider latest Iphones then of course all these aspects are well fullfilled by iphones except for the 60 hz display on iphone 15, but aaye on brighter side, 60 hz would save battery in long term usage. Don't quote me on this 😆 Considering Android phones i would prefer a good camera 😁

14 feels less fragile than the 15, i would feel more comfortable caseless with 14 than 15 even tho its more of a feels based judgement, one thing i dont like about the 15 is the slight increase in size compared to 14

@tobicelebrity Between the iPhone 14 and iPhone 15, I would choose the iPhone 15 due to the USB-C allowing greater integration and future proofing and the Dynamic Island. Out of all the iPhone 15 series I honestly think the 15 plus is the sweet spot.

Nice job on the comparison and I would think you would only buy the 14 if you got a great deal on one as the 15 is a step up and the camera the screen brightness the charging port and you also get an extra year of software updates and also the dynamic island which honestly I'm not a fan of but it will have features a headed to it in the future that you won't even know right now. So I wouldn't buy the 14 again unless you can get a great deal on it

@rachele_bianchi I agree with you and with a lot of people in the comments: the iPhone 15 is a significant upgrade to the base model and it's worth the extra money. After years I think it's finally worth upgrading if you want a base model iPhone. I went to the Apple store to take a closer look to the new line up, and the iPhone 15 feels so much more premium compared to the previous models and the camera quality is amazing. And I personally love the look of the dynamic island

I’d have to go for iPhone 15. Definitely wish I would have gotten that anyways. Battery I found out is super important to me, and camera is semi important. I game a lot, but not enough picture taking for me to graduate myself to the pro Versions. I still enjoy the updated look of the Dynamic Island, and productivity of it (it’s not a must) just added bonus. Lastly I will say the size is more than enough screen, I’m not a two size phone kinda person, and having to text like that is hand straining. I think in general anyone who games truly should be on a pc or console, likes picture taking, doesn’t do heavy productivity or content creating I think the 15 base model is more than perfect. Its cute colorful size is pocket friendly, and easily able to be found. I understand that they both have the same chip, but as Dion mentioned in the video you’ll be getting longer support for the 15 than the 14. It’s not a huge support difference, but if you’re coming from the 11 or 12 it’s a huge difference in battery, and support. Great video Dion 😊

The software update thing is kind of misleading because Apple typically supports their devices for a very long time. The iPhone xs is the oldest device supported on ios 17. Once RAM constraints of ios increase I think the iphone 14 will be saved from being made redundant due to it having 6gb. Because of that you really can't say what apple will do in the longterm regarding device support. Look at what happened when ios 7 came out, they dropped everything before the 4s from support. Even tho those devices could still run quite well.

So in the real world of non-gaming folks, the only real differences worth anything are: Brighter screen; better camera and possibly longer support............ some may say the price difference is worth that, others may not

I would add one point- as the world FULLY enters USB-C and the lightning connector on old iPhones is left behind, I would be hard pressed to recommend the 14 to anyone. 99% of manufacturers use type-C so a lot of accessories and "anybody have a charger" moments that just became compatible with the iPhone. Also, the 15 is a LOT more repairable due to a combination of legislative and financial reasons, you can check the official Apple repair prices for the 15 and its battery/screen/etc are sometimes literally hundreds of dollars cheaper than 14 and previous generations.

The 15 is a big enough jump from the 14 to make that purchase worth it. It’s a great year to buy the newest iPhone most definitely. Especially if you’re coming from an older phone like the 11, XR, etc. Amazing phone comparison! It’s always super super interesting to see these and how they change year after year.
