I want them to do the touch sensitivity for the lock button too. So that you can bring down or up your notification and the lock button doubling up as a touch ID would be a great feature. Action button having a double click option would be cool too. Similar to lock button opening wallet with double click. At the moment you have to hold it. One click does nothing. That needs to change. No one is accidentally clicking that button. No one accidentally locks their phone and that button is bigger. Why do we have to hold on the action button? They need a one click and two click option but keep the hold option there. Since holding lock button opens up siri

Yearly updates are *always* going to be iterative. New things, like new form factors, will come but they take a lot of time. Technology moves quickly but not enough to have a drastically different phone each year. Plus, most people dont upgrade every year. These updates add up.

At this point there's really nothing that these phone companies can do to make major changes to their designs and im ok with that. I got the iPhone X, skipped the XS and then upgraded every year since, some was because of better features and some was I just wanted a particular color ( Sierra blue!) or the titanium of the 15PM. So far this years phone doesn't seem like it will have anything to entice me enough to upgrade and im ok with that, I'll still get Apple AI and thats all I really want.

I’m holding on to my 14 Pro until the battery starts to fail. I have Apple Care +, so I can go to Best Buy for a new battery. I’m not overly excited for a capture button or USB-C. I use MagSafe charging and I don’t need a USB-C port to export photos from my iPhone to my MacBook, as I am not a professional photographer. I’ll wait until the 17 or 18 series.

Broke my iPhone 13 Pro Max.. Been trying to hold off for the 16 pro max(or whatever they are gonna call it) but have been having the worst luck.. 1. cheapy android place holder: dang.. this sucks ended up broken within a month 2. Cheapest iPhone I could get at metro pcs(iPhone 12).. flew out of my pocket on an amusement park ride.. back totally cracked but the phone was still working till some moisture got in and that was that 3. Dug out my ol iPhone X from 2017.. had a hard time hooking it up to service as it was a sprint phone and sprint is no longer a company.. finally got it hooked up.. almost lost it riding dirtbikes but miraculously found it Using it right now on 2024 networks.. barely holding on Plus the main cameras on the back aren’t taking clear shots so if I capture anything it’s from the selfie camera.. September can’t come soon enough

I have a 128gb 14 Pro Max in perfect condition. I usually wait to upgrade until the phone is paid off which it will be this September 24’. This means I skip two generations of processor and other upgrades which makes a noticeable difference in performance. With Sam’s club now adopting T-mobile that could be another incentive to upgrade with the bonuses there. If I move to a 256gb version (or higher) it also means I could save $36 a year in storage costs by ditching ICloud too. Hmmmm…

I don't understand why not just smack the Type 1 sensor or the new Lyt-900 sensor like Vivo X100 Ultra. If iPhones and Samsungs actually had top-of-the-line specs no other phone would need could compete. But they allow Vivo and Xiaomi to outdo them in so many scenarios due to the Gap in hardware quality. The video you would get on the iPhone if it had the Lyt-900 sensor would be baloony. It would be crazy crisp.

​@@josephpepe2607 Xiaomi is literally third biggest phone brand world wide and is out selling Samsung and Apple in many markets. Holds 12-13% of the market compared to 24 and 28 for Samsung and Apple. So quite a lot of people buy Xiaomi. I agree Vivo is less popular but they still hold almost 6% of the global market and their flagship is arguably the best camera you can buy right now. The x100 Ultra. It has a 30% larger main sensor than S24 ultra and 15 Pro max. And it even edges Xiaomi slightly. I'd say so at least. And if I had to buy one flagship, excluding s24 Ultra. I would probably go for Vivo over Apple. It's just an incredible phone. And if no one was Buying them how can they afford to have the most hardware advanced phone every year with best tech available? Look it up. the x70 Pro Plus, x80, x90, x100 all had best available hardware of it's time. And would often be better than Samsungs cameras, and even best camera phones out there.

I dont think so. Code references show the same actual base chip in all four, meaning it isn't just a version of the A17 Pro. Plus, Apple doesn't need to keep making the A17 at all. It can just make the A18 and then bin it out based on how many cores it has whether or not its the A18 or A18 Pro.

I’m kind of curious where the future of phone innovation will go. It’s very evident that across the board a lot of the tech for phones has kind of plateaued. A lot of people like to make jokes that all recent iPhones look the same but the same could be said for Samsung too. The S21 through the S24 all look alike.
