The iPhone 16 is a bit of an upgrade compared to the 15 but still misses a GOOD ultrawide. The new one from the pro models. No 120hz is just unacceptable in that price range. No 4k120fps even though it has also the new processor. "Some people cant see it" isnt an argument because you definitely pay for it. Even in the apple world its much. Compared to the competition... oof. But yeah thats another discussion 😁

The 16 may be a substantial upgrade but let's be honest. If you have a 12, 13, 14, or 15, and the phone still works fine, there's really no good reason to upgrade. There's nothing groundbreaking about the 16. The Camera Control button is too fiddly and awkward to use. It's a totally superfluous and unnecessary button. Steve Jobs would've hated it.

I hope UE will ban 120hz displays on smartphones, cause I'm tired of people complaining about 60hz on iphones. Most of the people buying the base 16 models doesn't care about refresh rate, so it's obvious for Apple to cut some corners there. 120hz it's just overkill for a phone imo, especially since most people doesn't do heavy gaming on iphone.

I bought the white colored iPhone 16 base model this morning. I traded in an iPhone 15 towards it so I got it for a relatively good price. It'll be my secondary phone with its own line. My daily driver is a Pixel 9 base model. Your videos are great Mark. You've got a good sense of humor.

Apple they themself knew the camera control button is a useless gimmick, that is why they put that feature on a regular 16. If they had mastered something and if they were very proud of it they would give that feature only in the pro models.

They advertise something that is not there because it's apple and no matter what Apple does ,your average person (consumer) will buy it and not even care that apple intelligence is not there. they only care about having a brand new iPhone with their blue bubbles iMessage and ecosystem. Last month My 14 yr old nephew got 15 pro max. I told him he should wait cuz 16 coming. He didn't care. He just wanted an iPhone also because he started high school, so he had to have 15 pm before school started. Its like a fashion statement as well I guess. It feels like when you have an iPhone you fit in with the crowd and not seen as an outsider lol. I don't know it's like for majority of ppl, if you don't have an iPhone you don't have a smartphone. But I guess I understand. iPhones are reliable and work well and easy to use .

I've always viewed hard-core iPhone users as narcissistic adolescents who just have to have the newest iPhone because all their friends have one, and they suffer from FOMO. In their world, it's all about blue bubbles vs green bubbles. If you are not part of the blue bubble group, then you are not worth knowing. Meanwhile, the adults use whatever phone does what they need from a smartphone regardless of the brand.

@@Das_Germaican I was just saying for majority of consumers , they don't care about whether apple intelligence is there at launch or not , they don't care about whether it has pro motion display , or that new iPhone series has more ram etc. My whole family has iPhones . They don't care about none of that stuff. That's why in my opinion apple could advertise Ai and not even have it ready at launch. people will buy it regardless because it's reliable and works well and is easy to use . And I understood those things. Still for me Its kinda misleading to advertise Apple intelligence and not have it at launch but still advertise it at stores. calm down techy . I use pixel 7 base model. I prefer pixel for my needs but iPhone seems more reliable.

I can't believe I am saying this, but if I go back to iPhone, it might be the green regular 16. I really want to play around with photographic styles. With the default 24 MP files along with styles it might be possible to come up with some print worthy photos!

That’s the one I got! 512 gb was what my store had and I’m loving it. Never used about half the storage or the telephoto in my old 1tb 13 pro max so I know it’ll fit my lifestyle.

Camera control: it's meant for when you're taking your time with a photo. Hold the phone with 2 hands like a real camera. Get close to the subject. As you would with a real camera, use the Camera Control to make fine zoom, focus and lighting adjustments. When it's just right, gently squeeze the button to take the picture. That's how you should use it. Not for fast photography

If Apple wanted to they could release an android feature called Ram Boost to designate 4gb of system memory as Ram. This would allow apple intelligence functionality on older 4gb ram iPhones. Wouldn't this 'save the planet' by reducing iPhone e-waste.

I was one of the people who always wanted a dedicated camera button and I’m glad to now have it. It’s not so sensitive to accidentally get pressed and on the base model 16 the placement isn’t as awkward as on the larger ones. I changed my Home Screen camera to alarm but when I swipe right it’s still camera! I feel like that’s an oversight- it should open the app you set then it won’t feel so redundant, especially with the action button we already have that can be set to camera.

I’m conflicted getting 16 pro max or 16 plus? Base 16 is basically a pro phone minus 120hz , telephoto lenses, and of course base 16 has way better colors. 16 pro brighter screen, 120hz, and always on display. So, I don’t know what to choose 🤷🏽‍♂️

Me too - I love my 13Pro cameras atm and the battery is still decent at 89% but the new base 16 colours look sick, action button sounds great and longer battery life; doubt I will use the photo button much though…Maybe I should wait for the 17 🤔

I had the 16 PM, but I “downgraded” to the 16+ and honestly, the speakers are great, barely notice the lower refresh rate. The only difference that slightly and I mean slightly bummed me out is not having some of the additional camera controls… like presetting to 1.2 or 1.5. The reduced rate is a major selling point and this blue color is amazing!

I upgraded from IPhone 14 Pro to 16Plus. First time going bigger as it’s much easier to handle with thinner and lighter design. Besides the Pro Max has gotten too big. I agree the pro features in the base phone is more than enough for my daily needs. Great content and honest take on your reviews. New subscriber now. 🙌🏼

1️⃣AI and good sales in Christmas in North America. 2️⃣AI in Europe, i guess, in March with a new color for 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max to get the attention for europeans and here we go until Septembee 2025 for the rest of the world. 3️⃣People love new colors so they are ready to accept a 60hz iPhone, just to get an iPhone. I know it's good busines from Apple but it's a non sense to accept that.
