The ESR armourite use to be the best ones but I tried them on my 16 pro max and the fit is just not there. They leave a nice sized gap at either side and also top and bottom when using a case. So in turn gets slot of dust in the gaps. Also has rainbow effect on edges.

Because they haven't updated it for the 16 Pro max. They are are just repackaging the 15 pro max screen as 16 pro max and thus the gaps. In a few months maybe they will retool their factories for the updated 16 pro max.

I don't think placing the screen protector on a block of tile is a good drop test. You can clearly see after performing the scratch test that the majority of the screen protector is only mildly adhered to the rough surface of the tile. This is likely reducing its ability to withstand flex and leads to it cracking easily. You should at least do this test with the protector well-adhered to a perfectly smooth, hard surface, like a polished steel surface, a thick slab of tempered glass, or maybe a substantive block of acrylic. Other than that, very informative video, thanks! I wound up returning my ESR armorlite because it's clear the applicator's offset is wrong.

Thanks for this I was just looking at the ESR Clear Glass W Tray on Amazon and one of the 5 star reviews from a 16PM user mentioned that it was the only screen that covered the entire screen. After watching this video that doesn't seem to be the case and seems no different than most other cases that leave a small gap for case compatibility. And so my quest to find the maximum coverage protector with fully rounded edges continues.

I got the armorlite and the normal applicator tray one, the armorlite was misaligned with their tool and had significant rainbowing effects on the edges - the normal tray is just large enough that rainbowing is not very noticeable/annoying and the tray actually puts the protector on in the right place

I suspect the bottom bubble of the Armorlite is due to the screen protector not being properly aligned on the phone - the alignment tool they provided sits the protector too low and isn't centered on the screen (leaves a gap at the top), so the screen protector is hanging over the curved glass and unable to adhere at the bottom

I just applied one of these to my phone 😂😂 the fit is terrible and easy to notice with the naked eye ,the gaps are to wide it sits right at the edge of the black boarder which draws your eyes to it constantly ,there’s a rainbow effect which was making me think their was something wrong with my screen .The idea of the tray and pull sleeves concept for many protectors is actually perfect but not when it’s size doesn’t match the phone AT ALL

Curious about anyone’s experience with the “dust removal” claims with the last two. Nothing bothers me worse than getting a speck of dust under a screen protector. Bubbles I can deal with, dust sucks.

After paying $1000+ for a phone with the best screen, best colours etc, don't get a privacy screen and make that $1000 phone into a phone with the display quality of a 5 year old $200 phone.

@@IssewOnline Yes, just get a name brand clear glass cover. Even clear glass covers slightly affects the the original display quality by 10-15% but drop protection is important so people just do it. The junk privacy ones ruin the display quality by a lot more, like 25% with slightly muted colours, poorer HDR performance, lower brightness, grainier look. Just get a name brand clear screen protector. Privacy screen protectors are for people (and mostly) for ladies who constantly upload their bikini pics to Facebook at work.

My personal experience with the Armorite model: 1) Application guide was off-had to remove and reapply the screen protector, which led to a bit of dust entering and also one of the corners cracking. 2) The bubbles at the bottom are permanent. Regardless of how well I removed them, they would always come back. 3) The rainbow effect at the edges is very noticeable. 4) It noticeably reduced the sensitivity of touch, leading to many instances of mistyping (particularly annoying when inputting passwords). Also, puzzlingly, I did not get any refills in my package, nor the squeegee. All in all, an underwhelming experience.

The Armorlite model was totally mis-aligned for me, I just ended up using the normal ones instead and got a full refund from Amazon for the Armorlite. If your pack was missing parts then you can probably go get a refund as well. Both definitely reduce touch sensitivity, and I could measurably see it happening if I tapped really lightly on my 12 Pro Max (no protector) vs on my 16 Pro Max (ESR protector), but I got used to it within a day or two.

I have a iPhone 16 pro max in order and I was thinking of using the plastic screen protectors that come with my “iBlason Armor box case”. The case already protects the hell out of the phone but I was wondering if I need a tempered screen protector?

I would only get a screen protector for the 16PM if you're worried about microscratches like I am - the drop test videos I watched seem to suggest that the glass is plenty strong (doesn't break with a neck-high drop onto concrete), and especially if you have a rugged case with a large lip I don't think the screen protector is completely necessary

I would personally still use a screen protector, a spec of sand could cause micro scratches on the screen.

I don’t like ESR screen protectors because I bought the Armorite Series with an easy installation kit, for 15 series and their advertisements on various platforms claimed it offered edge-to-edge coverage even on official site. However, when I applied it, there was a large gap, especially at the bottom. Their advertising is misleading, and they should improve it.
