Gen6 loses too much grip. You guys ruined the legend this year. Gen5 was the best case ever not because of its premiumness but because of unparalleled usability. Changes wont help reach pitaka-like premium feel anyway but downgrades are just too much.

Man, I fast forward to the mag safe test each time... and you never fail me. Also, removing the "claws" on the back makes this case too floppy if you are typing while it's laying on a desk. I'd buy a Gen 5 if they made it for the 16 Pro Max, tbh.

I have the G6 flex and I can tell you that must CAUDADE thick cable fits this case with ease where last year it did not. I am so happy that phone Rubel made the USB-C port water. I also am waiting on my GSX to come in on Monday as well as I have the air too and on all of what I have so far, the USB-C port is much easier to use this year.

@ It was on their website for a brief period of time when they updated it releasing the Gen 6. It said something to the effect of, “for customers who want to wait, an Ultra version with a camera control cover will be available in December.” I cancelled my order because I saw this statement on the site. It’s coming!

I’m still waiting for my Gen-6 but thank you for this. Although I must admit that the removal of claws at the back of the case is a bit of a disappointment to me and honestly I hope that they can make aramid fiber at the back scratch resistant because this is my issue on the previous version of their rebel case.

I’m also a bit shocked that the case’s magsafe wasn’t able to lift up your magsafe charger. It wasn’t a problem on their previous rebel cases. In fact, it was your review on Gen-4 rebel case that made me decide on using phone rebel cases because of their strong magsafe so it was kinda weird that the Gen-6 wasn’t able to lift up your magsafe charger

I had both gen 4 and 5. Love its design. BUT...both gens sides got ripped on parts where 2 parts meet. Strange thing is exactly on 6th month of use. Like they have built in timer in them. Even manufacturer acknowled design flaw TWICE after seeing photo of cases and refunded

Does it grip better than the Frosted one? The Frosted gen 6 one has the spikes but I swear that thing is insanely slick. The Gen 5 aramid and frosted looked the same on the side but the aramid had crazy grip where the frosted was quite slippery. I actually LOVED those grip spikes on the 5.

It’s funny you say that because the grips are the same but I would give the better grip to the Rebel Gen over the frosted and that’s probably because of the rear material of the frosted.

@ I might get one from Amazon because I can do a hassle free return. I know everyone's hands perceive grip differently but the aramid sides specifically on gen 5 actually grabbed into your fingers whereas the frosted gen 5 and 6 spikes are both visually there but definitely don't dig into the fingers at all. I couldn't even keep them on the phone for more than a day. Kept the aramid on for like 9 months. The back helps, but I swear the sides are totally different material.

The flex case would have been my perfect case if it had a leather back. I can’t stand the feel of anything else. I ended up getting a Ryan London case. So far so good.

The phone rebel accessories aren’t really worth it I only got them cuz there was a sale but the little screw it came with didn’t even work for me and the lil pill logo thing is now a bit loose after I replaced it. Overall tho the cases are always money 👍🏽

I don't mind if the price keeps creeping up, as long as the quality stays the same if not improves, you only need to buy it once! without this case and the ultra with camera control button coming out late December then I wouldn't have upgraded to the 16 pro max. those cut outs are hideous but all I can say is thank goodness for phone rebel for looking after us. only thing id like to see change is the camera ring having the option for a plastic or tpu option, mine scratches and it reveals the bare metal and I'm a case snob so you know that can't sit well with the OCD!

Awesome video as always, Tee! 💯 Just the video and case we were waiting for! The new stock matte black camera ring and buttons look way cleaner than the grey ones on the GEN 5. By the way, can you do a review on the new PITAKA Military-Grade Protective Case? It just came out recently, and I just got mine. It has 600D Aramid Fiber not just on the back of the case, but also on all the sides of the case! It fits like a glove, has a rock solid lip on the front, precision-cut metal buttons!

Just got my regular Gen6 and disappointed same as with frosted Gen6. It feels more premium than Gen5 however it absolutely does not matter as grip is not there anymore. Being able to effortlessly hold the phone in hand is the single most important feature of the phone case as I now realize. Gen6 definitely does not provide that comfort and peace of mind as I'm used to. This makes Synthesis my king this year.

Damn man, wish you went into more detail. Got my gen6 for my 16pm. Feels like a cheap copy of the gen5. Seamless between the aramid fibre and tpu….? Definitely not. Stevie wonder could see that. There is also a gap I can see through between the camera ring and body of the case. Looking at the inside of the case, bottom left corner. Anyone reading this, go for the pitaka mag ez pro when it comes out if it’s not out yet. Gen6 feels cheap and nasty.

Odd, I’ve had Phone Rebel cases since the OG pre-order for the 11 Pro and they’ve been my primary cases since then Rebel and Frosted for 11 Pro Rebel and Frosted for 13 Pro Max Gen 4 & Gen 5 Rebel for 14 Pro Max Rebel Flex 16 for 16 Pro Max I experienced quality issues only with the 13 series’s. Sean split at the edge and the magnets delaminated from the back on the Frosted. Original Rebel and Gen 4-up have had flawless quality in my experience
