I use split screen, pop up players regularly. I also take a lot of 4k 60fps video. Yes the phone is hot, but dk not dims the screen much and never shuts down or close apps. This usage with game and youtube playing at same time is extreme and will be never used so it doesn't translate to real world at all.

There are several reports of battery life being 1 hour better on iOS 18, compared to 17.6. The reason as someone pointed out is a change in the system level scheduler, remaining at lower clocks (efficiency cores?) for longer before boosting up. A side effect of this would be slightly worse performance in some cases, if the algorithm isn’t balanced properly. Hopefully this can be fixed with some fine tuning in a later 18.x update, to get the best of both. If both iPhones are using the same scheduler, then it would somewhat demonstrate the improvements even more going from first to second gen 3nm. But then again, maybe iPhone 16 would also have performed better on iOS 17?

This is often due to the compact design and high performance demands of these devices. I don't think it will get fried, also I don't think you use a phone like these benchmark 24/7. Guys do not listen to this video at all. It’s been proven false many times I will explain below. Asphalt 9 caters to the specific hardware that it’s being used on. The pixel has been shown to have the weakest gaming performance compared to these other phones by a HUGE MARGIN. HUGE… The way this was tested was incorrect. He also goes on to say that it was running in a higher resolution on the pixel. This is just incorrect. When selecting the highest graphics settings on the pixel, it will automatically be lower than what it is on the other phones, despite them all running in the “max” setting. Visual fidelity, you are seeing on the pixel is lower than on the other phones. It also uses a variable resolution compared to the static resolution on the other phones. Please don’t make up, lies and try to push them off as videos unless you know what you’re talking about.

My s24 ultra I thought was going to be great with the enhanced vapor chamber. That thing ran hot just using KZbin most of the time. It started out at 9 hours of screen on time for the first week, then started tanking to like 4 or 5 and stayed warm constantly. I’m kinda glad I have the 16 pro now.

I want to mention something I'm a pixel fan currently rocking a pixel Device but can't be baised right.. both the iphones were running high graphics compared to pixel and Samsung.. let me explain how resolution were similar 1080p but you'll notice shadow in iphones but not present in pixels and samsungs idk if it's something related to the API cuz iphone is using metal and in android it's openGL instead pf vulcan that gives better gaming performance and consistency... The pausing probably has something to do with the new game mode. It focuses the resources of the phone on the actual game at the expense of the background apps. The new iOS 18 was mainly developed for the iPhone 16 series which would explain the poorer performance on the A17 Pro. That's very typical when you make a firmware for a specific hardware. The iOS 18 is still very new and such bugs are normal. They should be addressed in the next versions so I suggest you redo the test after 1 or 2 updates

​@@cloud380 1 year s23U user here. The battery is as good as it was a year ago when I bought it. No degradation whatsoever. Lasts about the same time. I follow healthy charging habits, do not use 65W fast chargers, and play heavier games like hoyogames and Kuro. It's been the best battery phone I've ever owned, and I own 4 phones just fyi.

SOC getting powerful each year this results in accumulation of more heat that throttle CPU performance for almost half. After all this year big companies just keep adding bigger and bigger vapor chamber, i think they need to adapt redmagic idea to include "fan" + vapor chamber to prolong the activation of throttling CPU performance or at least maintain the temperature

That's very much a bad idea. The Redmagic is a gaming phone. It comes with a whole bunch of engineering compromises in order to feature a fan among a whole plethora of gaming functions both physical and software.

not really when the S24 runs with ~2 times of the performance of the pixel 9.... the test is preaty pointless tensor G4 ist a downgradet exynos 2400 with 2 removed cores and reduced clock speed. set the samsung to 70% of its performance = battery saving mode and its the same result. thats the performnce what tensor G4 is running. tensor G4 is like a snapdran 8 gen 3 in battery saving mode and its permanent for the tensor G4.... to call weak mid class hardware in any way good is confusing. take a intel celeron 2000 MHz on the other side a pentium 4000 MHZ to set a pentium 4000 MHZ to 2000 MHZ is not any sort of challange and you get near same result . to sell a celeron 2000 MHZ for the price of a pentium 400 MHZ ist the real crazy think on pixel hardware.... set your S24U to power saving CPU -40% and your S24U have still much more computing power and that is the full power setting of the pixel.....a shame in any way this hardware. snapdragon 8 gen 3 on the power saving mode set 70% CPU + power profile light use= geekbench single core 1800 multi core 5800 tensor G4 on max settings: single core 1900 multi core 4700

Great video, I have been waiting for this . Most manufacturers when released new phone, the update on the old phone makes it worst to make new one better. I have this problem with my note 20 ultra after s24 ultra released with the option to slow video down which note 20 ultra has the option in video editing to slow of speed video. But I realized the option is no longer there . That's scam , and just saw big performance drop on 15 pro max now which to me should be treated as scam.

The premise of the test is flawed since the iPhones are outputting more information in the screen share, whereas the Pixel and s24 are outputting lower fps, higher fps=more power usage, which hurts the iPhone elsewhere even though in a testing situation, it should not. Maybe limiting the fps of the stream or the game might provide a more objective result.

I have a 15 pro max. This is my first iphone, I upgraded from a Galaxy Note 9. After owning this iphone, I will tell you I am never going to buy another one again. I'm going to keep this one for 2-3 years and then see what Android has to offer. I want to get a Pixel, but only if they get faster hardware. I am disgusted with the business practices I have witnessed from Apple. They are a greasy, gross ass company and they do not deserve anyone's money. The fact that they would slow my phone down on purpose is criminal. I don't want to purchase from a company that I can't trust. Sure, the EU will probably sue them for this again, but they will still do their best to hurt me secretly. Why the hell would I stick with a company like that who doesn't respect me even when I do give them my money? Fuck Apple

You are overreacting. The first version of any yearly update nearly always has issues. remember last year? I am on iOS 18.1 beta and the performance and battery has returned to normal. That should be here in a few weeks. Dont upgrade early if you are this concerned. Apple even allowed you to stay on iOS 17 if you wanted to avoid the buggy first release!

@@andyH_England Actually I think you're right. I'm also on the 18.1 beta and I just did the 3dmark wild life extreme test and found out I'm getting a better score than when I was on ios 17. Honestly the only complaint I have about performance is thermals. When I'm playing codm I can't screen record while I'm playing or it throttles the fps after about 5 minutes and becomes more unplayable.

@@iamashamanama3712 Yes, the iPhone 16 Pro Max has rectified the iPhone 15 PM thermal issues. There is unlikely to be a solution other than playing at lower settings, so screen recording doesn't fail, which is less than perfect.

@@andyH_England Honestly I'll believe it when I see it. Need to see someone try the exact same thing I do on the 16 pro max. Play Codm at 120fps at medium settings while screen recording, and show me the fps the entire time that they don't drop below 120fps. If you can make it through an entire Battle Royal then ya maybe the 16 pro max has fixed the thermal issues. But until I see that I doubt it. It might take longer to throttle but it still throttles. They won't really get it right until they put in a vapor chamber. I'd wait until at least the 17 or 18 for them to perfect their cooling. And your solution wouldn't work. The only real solution is buying an external cooler.
