Good effort but without a robot the human error element will hold back the accuracy of this test. You had a lot of missed presses and the phones ability to open and close that app is largely dependent on how fast you can do it for each phone for each app which was inconsistent

What i like on iphone is the cleanliness and smoothness of animation transition well optimize, unlike the android that compensate thru faster animation but if you observed well you'll notice animation skipping in some apps

In this type of speed test one particular apps/games can make huge difference in the final result, if it's not optimize for the Operating System. I will prefer Side-by-Side speed test.

Nice speed test. However, I think Game Mode should be active as that’s the default setting. You can combine tasks such as open Mail default's app and sending an image or adding a new favorite website, it’s just like exporting video in Premiere, but with OSs app.

@ I've used QPR1 since September and the beta 3 fixes quite a few things on Pixel 9 such as the misaligned status bar icons to fromt camera, also comes with improved gestures animations (Way smoother and snappier) if you care about them that is.. just a tiny bit of bugs which doesn't affect any use cases and personally I find it much better than stable Android 15. But do keep in mind once you do opt in you can't revert back to stable Android 15 unless you factory reset (I mean why would even you roll back though). You will just wait til December update which is very soon so I don't see why you wouldn't try it.

This was never a fair fight 😅 3nm vs 4nm? Come on now. Also iOS apps are extremely way more optimized (1 app for all iPhone models. App developers doesn't have to worry about a thing because all apps are for a flagship phone with flagship hardware and no OS variety, just iOS) vs Android that can never be as optimized (too many models to consider with various hardware, RAM, CPU from budget to flagship and different OS like OneUI, MiUi, ColorOS, Pixel UI). Even with the S25 Ultra and Snapdragon 8 Elite coming with a 3nm, iOS will still have huge advantage because of the app optimization for this kind of tests Maybe if Android was only making flagship phones it would make sense but that's not the case.

this is closer to reality than other speed tests. you can see how smooth is the iPhone with no Ui lags or animation stuttering. android is just reskinning android 12-13-14 with no actual improvements in software and Ui but people hate what popular so iPhone always gets the complains from tech nerdy people

Pixel is a great phone like iPhone, but its only weakness is the processor. I'm not a gamer, but I expect that the phone will respond to fast and smooth running of programs in the future. Snap Dragon has proven to have less performance loss, but I don't know about Tensor, now that it's made by Samsung. Also, is the pixel worth buying?

It is fun to see the speed and the effort OEMs improve year-on-year, but realistically, in 2024, app opening speed will not sway anyone either way. Looking at the re-opening of apps, I noticed that the S24U could have been smoother, and hopefully, that will be improved with OneUI 7. Some apps were coming from RAM+. I would like to know if that was on, though it is a feature, so either way, it's not a negative for the test. No one expects the Pixel to win, but it is surprisingly good, considering it does not use TSMC chips--next year could be a big one for the Pixel 10. So, to conclude, the iPhone is the technically best phone of 2024 in the West out of these three in terms of battery and speed tests, with cameras close between them. However, a OnePlus 12 test would be nice to see. Non-technical, then it is more subjective as brand loyalty, OS, and special considerations (s-pen, ecosystem, etc) can take precedence.
