I have both phones and I have no idea how this video made the S5 look as good as it does. The iphones camera is by far better, especially for low light. it simply takes great photos with amazing focus. The s5 constantly has washed out photos and blurry pictures. it's incredibly frustrating. this is just my personal experience with real life and using these cameras so much.

Personally for me; it looked like the galaxy has more clear picture quality but the iphone has rather warmer lighting and it brings more life to the pictures instead of washing them out. I really want a galaxy s5 though... I have the galaxy s4 right now and the front camera while using an artificial light makes everything look very yellow. Although the front facing camera is great

It's mainly the color thing for me. I prefer what apple calls "natural". Not a big fan of saturated photos and screens. Makes stuff look like candy land in my opinion. Not trying say which is better just saying that I chose the 6 more. Even in the last test he did when he was showing the pics first names second.

Before the release of the iphone 6, I decided I was done with Apple. I wanted to sell my iPhone 5 but first I wanted to see if I can live with a S5. I ordered it and used it, I lasted three days. The front facing camera of the S5 is 5/10 and the one on iPhone is 7.5/10 ... I like taking videos when I drive and with S5, there are so many buttons before getting to where you want, it is not conducive like the iphone 5. I returned the S5.

Great video, once again, love how you stuck to facts and not biased preferences. I must admit the iPhone 6(+) has the advantage when it comes to image but lacks in audio. My main reason for commenting, however, was to say that I reaaaally hope you do this again for when the Galaxy Note 4 comes out. Although I am not a photographer of any sort and I probably only take one selfie per week (lol) I still feel as though the picture quality is going to be a deal breaker between the Note 4 and the iPhone 6(+).

I don't own either phone, I'm a amateur photographer and I don't use my phone camera that much (almost never!), but what an amazing comparison, great video! The video and audio quality: S5 is much much better than the 6 in my opinion, but the autofocus is almost the same. In low light S5 all the way better, no question! Front camera: I pretty much hate selfies, but it's impressive the much better quality out of iPhone 6 over the S5! It shows once again how sometimes specs are not to be trusted as an overall yardstick! Rear camera: better S5, but I hope that all the people completely in the dark about photography who still think that 16 means double quality than 8, got the proof that is not true! There are differences on the auto white balance, exposure and contrast, but honestly even if S5 is better quality wise, is not two times better by any means! On low light: both good job but in my opinion the 6 is better than the S5, but I think is just a matter of photo preference! The contrast is more a matter of software, on a dslr you can control that much better and however you can correct it in post! With the flash the S5 I think performs better. Overall both phones are doing a pretty nice job to be phones and of course get over yourself, the S5 is the "winner" it I have to pick one (and if you need to have a winner!) but not two times better overall than the 6!

They look better course of using unreal color preset = you get absolutely not real pictures. You can do the same with a small editing of iPhone Photos if you wish to. As for me I prefere real snapshots and not those with photoshop-feeling.

Apple prefers to offer your shots untouched. Samsung gave them a big real time saturation and make them unnatural. I like the details of Galaxy camera but i hate the fact that low lights is being bumped up from processor. As you can see the dark in galaxy is really dark and white is washed up. iPhone 6 has more realistic recording despite the fact that it is more dark. iPhone 6 has amazing optics and a huge sensor that really makes the difference in many situations. I use smartphone's camera everyday and from my experience i will go to iPhone 6.

For the s5 "selfie" don't forget theres the beauty cam thing that also helps with those pictures, i hate using the front cam but again its too close to say one is better, personal preference! IMO the iphones color was always off and still is, my s5 is pretty on point but occasionally does wash out.. Great video!

Great job on the comparison! I love how you didn't tell us which photo was from which camera. It helps us make up our own minds on which camera is better for our own needs. I'm hoping you do a similar test with the galaxy note 4 and the iPhone 6. As far as the argument between natural and saturated colors, saturated is great because the pictures and videos look great without any editing. However, if you are going to use the camera to film an action video or something similar for a youtube channel or amateur video contest then you want to have unsaturated colors because it will be much easier to edit the "mood" of the video in post. Granted, the VAST majority of people who buy these phones are NOT buying them for that purpose. But still.

For anyone who thinks the iPhone sound quality isn't good..Take a Samsung, HTC or Motorola device and film loud noises such as a Nascar race. Videos from Nascar events recorded on my friends Windows and Android phones are often distorted and lack the natural playback in comparison to the iPhone. It's like the microphones can't handle loud noise.

great to the point review, unlike most that I see online. I'd hoped the iphone would have gone to stereo audio, sound is a big deal for video although wind and back ground noise was a bit of a problem for the S5.

Jesus. Comment section on reviews is such a madness. I remember some years ago it was all chill and people putting their opinions and actually helping. Now, people just insult each other and if there's someone that needs help on the comment section he'll just be completly over run with these type of comments saying "Apple's better!" "Android's better!". Guys if you really need help on it. Go to a store and try both. It's PERSONAL PREFERENCE, not youtube comment/video preference. It's obvious that if SuperSaf liked Apple more he would help it out a little, vice versa. You just have to stop being ignorant and mean. And actually help people make their decision. Right now, I don't even know what I should buy or not. I like customizable stuff, and I get bored of stuff easily, if I was to go with an iPhone, I'd go insane cause it's so simple! BUT that has positive sides as it might run faster with "low" specs. Don't get me wrong, Apple looks like a great company and has great products, but I also like android. Hell, if I had the money I'd buy both, Android and Apple, but I can barely buy one of them. About the pictures, I like them both, only if you're picky with your pictures you'll be worried about it. Just get some sense into you. And atleast answer politely. One thing's a joke, another is pure bitching. And that isn't only for Apple users, but it's the same for Android users. It's sad that both "sides" don't get along. Wouldn't it be better if we'd be all a community instead of insulting each other. And then put pressure on the companies to see better products? Or... you pressure the fuck out of them and they'll do an horrible job. Technology has come a far path since the beginning, specially of phones. Stop turning it into a bad thing, and make it better. And if you're wondering, I was thinking of buying the Note 4. But I'm afraid that it will get slow like my Nexus S. Although my nexus S is really outdated. Oh well...

So basically the s5 has a better rear facing camera and the iPhone 6& iPhone 6+ have better front facing cameras. Despite the pointless arguing in the comments this was a very helpful and informative video :)

Folks, I just showed this video to my aunt, cousin & a neighbor-friend in my Samsung 47 inches 2K LED TV and all of them chose GALAXY S5 video quality vs the iPhone 6's.... That's unbiased & honest showcased of the video quality of S5. Have a great weekend to y'all

It seemed like the iphone was able to have more items in focus at once than the GS5. Like the flower photo. Some of the backgroumd flowers were in fucus unlike on the gs5 photo. Both nice cameras. The iphone is a little better though, especially since that front camera has more detail.

One thing you never mentioned was the crispness and detail in the 6 plus. Every blade of grass was detailed where as the s5 had a blown up flower with out-focused grass behind. I noticed the s5 was over saturated with colour, not true colour either. Noise was rather low on 6 plus. Low-light was a little weak too! Were both phones set to the same settings??

i own a galaxy s5 and i'm a big fan of its camera, so you made me proud by making this video........n when it comes to design then again i think s5 is better.

Great comparison! For my opinion the iphone 6 & 6plus is far better. The 4k Video on the S5 is nice but nearly no one has a 4k display... the sound on both is great but much louder on the S5. For camera i would choose the iphone...
