I do iphone lcd refurbishment, these lines normally appear when the flex cable is not plugged into the socket properly. All you have to do is take the back off and using tweezers or your finger nail unplug the cables and reattached then again, also worth examining the sockets to make sure they are clear of dust or any other particles.

+Physiotherapie Kopitz just unplug them all and blow on each connector and then plug them in and listen for a snap sound. if it still does not work then the cable or connector is faulty which isn't an easy fix. it's worth trying this before paying out for a new screen. just look for a video on how to remove the screen

My IPhone 6 was perfect until I replaced the battery. It is recommended to remove the screen and unplug those (4) tiny connectors so the entire screen can be set aside. Replaced the battery and put it back together. Followed instructions implicitly. Touch screen didn't work and had long vertical lines down the screen. I searched KZbin and one guy said that it is the connectors being slightly "curved" along their length by pushing them back into place using a left-to-right motion instead of pushing directly in the center ONLY. It shows how to gently bend the connectors back to straight and then try again. It worked like a champ! Now, all is working except I have two "rows" or short vertical bars that look like a picket fence in the background at the top of the screen. So....bent phone in my opinion is NOT the answer. It was those connectors because everything was perfect until I took it apart to change the battery. I could "live" with the picket fence since it is in the background and affects nothing for the function of the phone but I want it back to the way it was. So, I'm going to redo those connectors yet another time.

I looked at another iPhone 6 that had a ton of cracks on. The screen didn't have the vertical bars which shrink the screen to 4.3" approx. It can happen on any iPhone. It's to do with water or dropping (iPhones tend to not absorb shock) like the "Dark Screen" problem. If you think that water is in the iPhone, put it in a box of dry rice (rice clears water, hence putting the iPhone in the exact direction of the water) and leave it there. Some iPhones DO absorb shock by -49.5%, like the 3GS or the 5C.

Yup same issue on iPhone 6 plus. When that happens, my touch stops working too. I did open up my phone ( i got it used so i dont think i can get a warranty for it), and when I apply a light pressure on LCD cables i can start getting those lines...But as you said, its only a LCD issue, so we only need to replace our screens.

Finally got Iphone 6+ yesterday (after an almost 3 month wait on an online upgrade order through AT&T). Turn it on and saw about 3 pairs of horizontal "Lines" going across the screen, very annoying and very pissed. So I went to the Apple store first thing this morning and they said my screen was defective. I haven't even had the phone for 24 hrs and it is already being repaired. When I went back to pickup my phone, they claimed the wire was "loose" but they went ahead and switched the screen out for a new one anyway. I know they did that because when they gave it back to me it didn't have the screen guard I put on it and I made them give me a new one for free. Immediately purchased the Apple Care 2 year extended warranty as quality control has gone to %$$@ at Apple and probably only a matter of time before something else goes bad on the phone.

the problem i think is to do with the lcd ribbon connectors (under the square metal plate in an iPhone 6 next to the battery) and they may have been scratched or have dust between the connections i know this as i think i damaged them while i was doing a repair / misaligned them. i don't believe it needs a complete screen replacement but i'm just speaking from what i have encountered . ~ G

On the 6 plus, it's usually a result of a non tragic drop (didn't break screen) that has loosened a connector inside. Keep in mind big phones are TOTALLY NEW to Apple and they have had to learn some of this from scratch. Better anchoring of their connectors or moving them away from the upper right extreme would likely help. Rarely in my repair business does it result in a new screen, simply a refit of the connectors...and my own special design modification that makes sure the connectors stay firmly connected in future. NEVER had one come back yet...I charge $40 because I am honest. Some places charge for a new screen in the hundreds of dollars....and just do the same thing I do for $40...and you get your old screen back.

Hey yeah same here. Just needs to twist the phone a little bit? What caused this problem. My 6+ iphone has been in a tough case since I got it. The pelican voyager case at att store .. Did my phone get bent some how. ? I even went to Genius Bar few weeks ago. And all I got was a free screen replacement. Still does it. Just not as bad. My 5 has that problem as well only its all the time with red bars as well and green red a blue dots randomly. Also the touch screen stops working on the lock screen every time I switch my phone of. I either have to wait for 5 - 10 mins for it to start working again or reset it and wait 3 - 5 mins. I'm not sure if it's a screen issue or a hardware issue. And I was just wondering if you could tell me because then I know whether I need to get a new phone or just get the screen changed.

I Have had my iPhone 6 Plus for 2 years now and these thin blue lines have appeared horizontally on my phone out of nowhere first it was just 2 and in a spend of a few days now I have 6 blue lines and I also have like dark and lighter strips which appeared over the spend of a few days as well and they go up and down the screen I am looking into replacing the screen but sometimes out of nowhere when I'm playing certain games my phone gets hot and I'm scared that if I replace the screen that if my phone gets hot it can mess up the screen but is soon as this happens I close all the apps and let it sit for like about a minute or two then it cools back down so I really don't know what to do I'm A single father and money is tight right now and I don't know whether to replace the battery first or if the signs of the screen means that it's only gonna get worse over time which it has but I'm not sure if it get any worse but I will be able to fix the phone in two months but I can only replace one thing at a time so I would love some feedback thank you

My 45 day old IPhone 6 has 2 light lines, not as obvious as this and much thinner. Two of the keys that fall between these two lines the @ sign and the letter "y' won't type. When I got the phone it took staying on the phone with the phone company for 45 minutes to get it to activate. At that time these same letters would not type, but after they instructed me to reset the phone for the 2nd and 3rd times, it fixed the problem It was fine when I went to bed and the next morning these lines appears. I called Apple and the first thing they asked is whether or not I dropped it. I'm sending it in for repair, and they have charged my card over $700 to send me a loaner. Are they going to try to tell me this is due to damage, even though there has been no damage to the phone, or is this a known issue for these phones?

I just had this same issue but my iPhone isn't responsive. I get that it's not a software damage. I didn't know what to do but eventually my phone fixed itself, I really don't know why it's acting so weird. The screen fixed itself after/while I'm charging my phone.

Hey my son had bought the same phone brand new and it went from working great to exactly how you described your phone. It started with rainbow lines but he couldn't use it. It stayed that way for a while. So you just tried charging again and it was fixed completely? same ! try taking the back of and then unattach the LCD wires, after that, give them a blow and then plug it all back in and put the back on! If that doesn't work then just gently apply pressure under the foward facing camera with the screen facing towards you! hope at least one of these work! 👊👍🏻

I got my iphone 6+ in September 2015. Recently in February in 2016 i noticed a few white lines on the top screen. I didnt think much of it until my screen wasn't responsive. I looked it up and it said it was "bent". I carry my phone in my front pocket with nothing but my phone. I have a soft case and removed it. I put a little pressure on it and it worked. Then it started to get worse. Any way to fix this without replacing the phone entirely.

you can replace the screen either yourself which will cost maybe $30 or $40 or take it to the apple store which will cost $109 +tax if you have a warranty but about $299+tax I think without a warranty

You do no need to replace your screen to fix this issue. The connection on the lcd screen has come loose all you have to do is open the phone and press it back in. Pressing down hard below the back camera with your thumb can fix it too

My iPhone 6 Gold has these colorful lines that flash on the screen. I cant use the phone at all. It randomly flashes at times. I cant use it. It all started happening when me and my friends where filming with the 'slow-mo' effect and we were watching the video when these purple and pink vertical lines showed up on the screen. We could still hear sounds but could not see anything besides the lines. I turned it off and then back on, but when I did all I could see was a grey screen. Nothing else. I left my phone down for a while and I turned it on. I could see the lock screen properly. I type in my pass code. Everything is fine. Then on the home screen I could see pink horizontal lines across the screen, like you have in the video. I clear all my notifications and it goes back to normal. I tried to go on the photos to delete the video when it all started then the WHOLE screen started flashing. Its been a few hours and it still hasn't cleared up. What could I do?

There was a small crack in my screen which must have been pretty deep. I got my phone replaced and didn't pay anything. My phone is now back to normal. I haven't lost anything because I was signed in with my Apple ID so everything is fine now :D shakeebz 15

You could try opening it up and making sure all the cables are plugged in correctly and in good shape. If not, you may have to buy a new screen. Usually this is a result of a manufacturing defect.
