I started microsoldering with a $100 USB microscope and a $80 2in1 rework station. The first repair I ever attempted was the iPhone 7 audio ic and got it first go with no sweat. I have done over 20 of them now first attempt with out a hiccup until the other day I was telling my buddy how much of a legend I was and the chip flipped up....After a second reball and reflow she was all good. I have always used Marks gravity drop method and it is hard to fuck up. 2years later I am geared up with hakko, quick, amscope, ect and own every piece of gear anyone could ever want; I predominantly work on MacBooks now and make a very lucrative living from this art. A lot of my success can be attributed to you Jason, and Louis, Jessa, Mark, Paul, and Paul D. Thanks heaps guys and long live the champions!

You're definitely right about the finesse for removing the audio ic. I haven't developed the flip technique, it's on my list. Currently I prefer moving the chip laterally first to confirm all pads are wetting temp before pulling up. The amount of heat required feels like it's almost twice as much as the Meson was for the 6/6+. I'm amazed at how well this board eats heat.

Hello. to fix pin C12 audio and do not need to remove it, you can insert a wire. the thread is inserted through the side of the audio chip by removing the bumpers (only the nand side) and r3201. this variant is tested and running, it raises the risk of disturbing the baseband

My iPhone has been stuck in a bootloop for the past month, and only now am I taking it to the apple store to repair it. I was very worried about having to do a full restore and erasing all the data off of my phone, especially since I don't have any recent backups to restore from and I have all my important data on the phone. This gave me a bit of hope when it comes to getting a my phone to a place where I could back it up for good measure and transfer the data to a new device (since I will be getting a new phone with more storage anyway).

Any tips on pinpointing issues related to baseband reboots without just trying new bb pmic or reballing bb cpu?
@ststele6 жыл бұрын
Common flaws is the best I can say here. Many times I go strait for checking shorts on baseband power lines (specifically PP_1V0_SMPS5) because it saves me from wasting too much time on a no-fix. If PP_1V0_SMPS5 is shorted, it's the end of my repair. No heat, no soldering iron, no checking for shorted caps. It's the baseband CPU shorted. I think just about any line could get broken though so outside of detectable shorts, we are left with checking for continuity and comparing diode mode measurements against known good boards.

I bought it from a local insurance agency that used it as a customer checkout counter. I just got lucky that the top-deck was the right height for the microscope post to go through. I drilled a big hole and then mounted the base directly to the bench top. I didn’t plan to do that when I got the bench. It just happened to work after I struggled finding a good spot for the heavy, factory base that came with the microscope stand.

Not sure if you’re still dealing with this issue anymore but although it definitely is fixable, I wouldn’t say it’s worth it. It could very well be a lot cheaper to get a newer iPhone (doesn’t have to be the newest or even brand new) but you’d get a much better deal that way. In terms of your iPhone 7 I’d say put it up on eBay explaining your issue and if nobody’s interested just get the trade in value and use it towards a newer phone with your carrier or sell it for parts through one of those recycling services. Goodluck!!

Over the past 20 years, I have purchased more than 25 cell phones and 15 tablets and not a one has ever had any issues. The list goes from Nokia, Blackberry and on. In the last 5 years, I've been with Samsung. But in Jan 2018 I finally decided to give Apple a try and I was pleasantly surprised. I got an iPhone 7 Plus along with an iPad Pro 12.9 and they have worked great together. I use them every day. I keep them as must as possible out of direct sunlight, leaving them in a HOT CAR and always buy a Great case to protect them. I've watched friends and coworkers treat their cell phones and tablets like a child treat an old toy that they don't want anymore. Also, back in 2014 I picked up an iPad Air 2 for the first time as a main On The Go Tablet and have never looked back. So I must be lucky.

I'm really sorry to hear it. It sounds like yours is hung on an Apple logo like the phone in this video where it starts all the way up to the lock screen (so it thinks) but the display is still showing the startup/Apple screen. So far, it's been the audio chip that causes this sort of a hang up. If you are just trying to run a back up, I could imagine if the phone was a bit warmer or colder at the beginning of start-up, it may go past this without having to do any soldering work. Is very very tiny broken connections that cause it so I think just a temperature difference could affect it to temporarily make it work. The iPhone 7 has been a real lemon. I think I've lost track of the amount of faults that cause them to hang up or loop.
