I don't think so... the 17 Air will likely be a premium model phone with SOME of the features of the 17 Pro models but thinner and lighter... where as the SE will be a stripped down basic version of the iPhone 16

nah the latest os and systems stuff take up too much memory. I have new ipad pro m4, os and system itself i kid you not takes up roughly 32 gbs. maybe it partly the apply intelligence. But i doubt apple will come out with a 64gb option. it will cost them more money and hassle to keep an extra configuration.

I have SE 2nd with 64GB. I hope the base for the SE 4th will be 64GB. I used to have some trouble with the storage, but this summer got an iPad 10th with 256GB and was able to delete a lot of stuff that wasn’t really satisfactory on the SE and instead put them on the iPad. I do wish Apple would make the Journal app for the iPad. Anyway, now only using about 48GB on SE 2nd phone and it’s great little phone. Mainly use it for txts, calls, and apps like Maps/Reminders/Notes/Calendar/Podcasts/Maps, and shopping apps needed when in stores and Camera for basic photography. Use the iPad for everything else that needs a large screen. Saving for a Mac, but both these (the phone and iPad) have been great workhorses and fun (Music, reading, photography, games, video/movies, language and cooking apps).

And I don't know how to feel if the minimum storage of the SE 4 is 128GB, because I had experienced with a phone with 128GB and no microSD expansion before, which is the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra (I now rocking an S24 Ultra with 1TB storage). It was a 2-year struggle. Unless iOS apps take less storage space than Android apps, I don't know how different dealing with a 128GB iPhone would be compared to a 128GB Samsung phone (with no microSD card expansion of course).

The Dynamic Island makes sense if the iPhone 16 chassis is the basis because the notched screen from the earlier models won’t directly fit and they’d have to make a custom notched screen which would add cost and make the phone look regressive and be less appealing harming sales

64g should be out. I have the new ipad pro and the os and system takes up roughly 32gbs itself. Please look into the new modem, need to know if its going to be a problem in terms of inferior speed or if apple is going to do one of those "things that we hate". Like taking out the split keyboard on ipads. Or not letting the pencil pro gestures be programmable to do other than the small number of things they allow. Maybe they will limit hotspot in some way....

You forgot it won’t have the camera button on the side. Also the 16 Pro is 6.3” with slimmer bezels. Think of what they did with the Apple Watch 10, giving it a larger display to differentiate it from the SE 2 Watch. As minor as it is, I do appreciate the slightly larger 6.3” 15 Pro.

People are seeing the front of the Air and thinking it’s the SE… I personally think there’s little chance SE gets a Dynamic Island instead of the notch. Apple is still manufacturing the 14 currently so it’s not like the supply chain for the notch was shut down. I think it’s much more likely Apple will keep the notch around even if it doesn’t save them money. As for the storage, that sounds plausible but because the AI models take up space on the phone, I think it’s more likely Apple will have 128 base for $499 and 256 for $599 (based on iPad mini 7 update)

My guess is that It’ll be base on the iPhone 14. Same body/display/notch/single main 12mpx camera, ubs-c/m, no action button. Maybe no Face ID with Touch ID on power button and A17 pro as the iPad mini 7 or A18. I hope it start at 128 Gb.

Wonder if there will be multiple versions for various countries? Could be easy to just make one device with physical sim and esim that is available everywhere. When it comes to the storage wouldn't it be easier to not have a low end base model instead of having a $500 device why not make a $700 device with whatever specs most people upgrade to and then have a higher end version at $1100.

To me it makes sense the SE 4 would have the dynamic island, type C charger and Apple Intelligence. When you look at it from a long term perspective, this makes the SE 4 a must buy cheaper entry into the Apple ecosystem. So if the goal is to convert more users from android to Apple, it's a smart decision to pack as much value as possible into a $500 iPhone. I do hope the base models are not 64 GB as in 2025 that simply is way too low given how much memory apps and updates take up.

Expecting exactly the same display as iPhone 16 might be a bit of a stretch! In case the Dynamic Island is happening (makes sense tbh), I expect a slightly lower specced display 800 Typical-1200 HDR-M12 (BOE was failing to meet the quality of iPhone 15 display orders) which was rejected by Apple in 2023 will be used for the upcoming SE.

I don’t think it’s gonna be called an Apple iPhone SE anymore. I think the nomenclature is going to change and they are going to call this thing the iPhone 16. Additionally, they’re probably going to scrap the iPhone 14 and 14+ as well as knock the iPhone 15 and 15+ down to the bottom as the base line entry iPhone. They’re going to adjust the prices so that the iPhone 15 and 15+ start at 599 and this new iPhone 16 E is going to start at 699. I don’t think they’re gonna start at 64 GB of base storage because that would not make any sense Because no one is going to pay 699 or even 649 or even 599 for 64 GB of storage. That being said, I think they’re gonna limit the storage to either 128 or 256 to force people to get the newer shit and the newer phones that cost more money for larger storage options if that is your thing. Finally, that thing is definitely getting the a 17 pro chip no way they’re gonna stick an 18 in that.
