KZbin tells me that 50% or less of you watch past the 1:34 mark, which tells me either you quit, or you're skimming too much and missing key information! Gotta watch the whole video (besides sped up stuff, that's up to you)

Very nice video Matt! I was hoping that you didn't have to take the entire phone apart to replace the back glass, but I guess there is no other way? Thanks!

You can try, but with the risk of melting/severely damaging the battery, board, and rear cameras, I highly recommend a full/partial teardown
@agoogleuser90252 жыл бұрын
@@RealWorldReview what about just using a hairdryer just like when replacing the battery with really crusty pull tab adhesives
@mroverdose147 ай бұрын
@@agoogleuser9025I used a bit of alcohol. Works really good for me. I'm going to try again cause I didn't take out the logic board and camera which reduces the amount of heat I was willing to use. Will take those out and go in with the heat cause with out the higher heat this repair is nigh impossible

I followed your instructions. Thanks for the help. I got the new back on and everything looks good but the NFC doesn't work. Everything else seems functional so far. Do you know what could have caused the NFC to not work? I know I plugged in all the cables--but if I were to go back inside to check, what should I look for?
@itsalifestyle29872 жыл бұрын
Would you do this for a customer, or are the risks too high?
@zapole3 жыл бұрын
That is quite risky, especially the wireless charging makes me a bit anxious

A hair dryer can get enough heat to remove the back?
@RealWorldReview2 жыл бұрын
Never tried
@convoludedduded5086 Жыл бұрын
it should work. just play around with the heat and flow rate. I think I'm going to do that. Did you do it though? wondering how it went if you did
@christaylor47869 ай бұрын
Maybe a high end one. Typically heat guns get a lot hotter. Used to be a repair guy and I did indeed try with a dryer when I first started but mine didn't work so I got a heat gun

of course, they intentionally make it as difficult as possible so that you come to them to give them more money for their inherently-flawed design. More horizontal integration. You give them money for the phone that will break easily- they offer the solution- you accept the offer because you have literally no other option unless you want to risk bricking your own $1000 picture box.

I don't see why you have to disassemble the entire phone. Maybe I'm missing something?
@amy92862 жыл бұрын
because heating up the back of the phone to unglue the glass could damage the inside (battery especially is very risky)
@RealWorldReview2 жыл бұрын
If you kill the board, battery, cameras, and such, you're not going to be happy. I always remove those three. As you do more of these, keeping the charging port in is easier to do.

Right, so...just invest $1200 in Tools, time, frustration, and broken parts and you can fix this for $15.00. 🤣
@RealWorldReview2 жыл бұрын
Heat gun is $20. Razor is $15-$20. Back glass is $15-$20. Glove is $20-$30 and glasses are $10. Toolkit is $40-$60. Doesn’t look like $1200, but I’m more than happy to sell them to you for $900 lol. With the exception of the heat gun and back glass, the rest are investments that will last pretty much forever.
