I just got my XR today, upgraded from an SE 2020 and my XR is way better compared to it. This is a good buy in 2023. Works flawlessly just like the newer iPhones. I don’t think that I’m missing out on anything that those newer ones do imo. The XR is pretty worth it👍

even though the SE has the A13 chip and the XR had the A12, i would still prefer the XR because i would rather have a bigger battery that could probably last me 5-6 hours and a 6.1 inch screen instead of a 4.7 inch , i get it the XR may not get iOS 18 but in concerned about the SE having the same battery capacity as the iphone 8 with the A13 chip and 3 gigs of ram wouldn't've the battery run out 2x as fast up the updated cameras and specs?(btw my main phone is the iphone 8)

I ordered an iPhone XR yesterday. Been on android the last 2 years. And ready to go back to iOS. And I've had this phone a few different times because it's super reliable. It holds up well today even with newer phones. I swear some people's priorities are so screwed up with obsessing over the display and camera or bezels. None of that matters to normal people like me that just wants a good budget iPhone.

No, no, a hundred million times no I’ve had my XR since a few months after its launch. It’s a nearly 5-year-old phone. Does it still work? Yeah. Is it still chugging along without ever getting a battery replacement? Yeah. Would I buy it now, when it’s got a couple years max of life left in it? No, in fact I’m already looking to upgrade as soon as the iPhone 15 launches. I know I’m not the target audience for this video, as I would rather buy a brand-new phone every 5-6 years than buy a used phone every 2-3 years. Both are similarly cost-effective in the long run, both have their own advantages. I get that nobody buying an iPhone XR in 2023 is planning on using it for five years. But there are better phones to buy for not much more. Backmarket is, so far as I can tell by reviews, a trustworthy site for getting older refurbished phones, they won’t be in practically brand-new condition like the ads lead you to believe but they’ll be solid and with a great warranty for low prices. You get an iPhone XR off there, you’re looking at a minimum of $200. Get an iPhone 12 instead, you’re looking at a minimum of $300, half again as much, but you get a phone that’ll be totally usable for twice as long, and as the cherry on top you also, just, have a better phone at the start. It’ll be as outdated in 4 years as the XR is in 2 years, sure, but you get a couple years where it’s less outdated. If you’re going for a used phone to save some money, I think the sweetspot to save the most money is the iPhone 12 (at this exact moment in time), or if you’re looking for a bigger screen and a bigger battery, the 12 Pro Max is the cheapest you’ll get a 6.7-inch iPhone.

My father uses iPhone xr and he is planning to upgrade to iPhone 13 and I'm planning to get his iPhone xr and sell my android phone. Would it be a smart choice, my current phone has 90hz screen, good battery life, 60w charger and a good OLED display.

@@roshangogu2670 I wouldn’t recommend switching from one brand to another, it’s a major hassle. I’ve been preparing to switch from IOS to Android lately, which if anything is easier than the other direction, and it’s challenging to get out of one company’s systems and into another. Worth it if there are some features you absolutely cannot get on your current platform, that you would like to have - for me, it’s that Samsung makes folding phones, which give me a big enough screen to draw on that fits in my pocket. Apple doesn’t make anything like that, closest is the iPad Mini but it’s still a bit big for pockets and requires you to have a separate phone. Also, if your current phone has a 90hz oled panel, then the XR’s 60hz LCD is a significant downgrade. I would assume the rest of the specs are also a downgrade. I still have my XR and it still works, but it’s slowly getting more and more annoying to use by the month.

With 98% battery life, I get around 10 hours of SOT with moderate use. It’s really great on standby as well. Usually wake up with what I went to sleep with.
