It just took me all day to replace the back glass on this POS. Tried to replace the glass(impossible) and ended up replacing the whole chassis. In comparison , i fixed the same issue on a s10 in 15 minutes.

I have the xr and I love it, the screen size is amazing, quality is super good in terms of screen, camera and sound, super fast however I have yet to try out the wireless charging feature !

I have an iPhone xr that was a refurbished replacement for one i broke. The replacement I was given would not connect to a network and after hours of calls to apple I was told the iphone had no cellular presence. Is there a repair for this? I have new iphone now but would love to try repair the xr myself

@@polgilpla832 Buy with a T-Mobile Sim, then remove it once you get the phone and pop in your SIM or use it without one as in iOS 12 one is no longer needed for activation.

iPhones hold their value like mad. I just sold my iPhone 8+ 256gb for $575. Comparable Samsung phones from the same time we’re going for $200-300 even though they cost the same or more when new.

After I years of Apple iPhones 3Gs, 4s, 5s and iPad air on iOS I changed to Huawei P10 lite and p20 lite on Android - best decision I've ever made. I pay my phone 250 euros at most by waiting for 9 months after initial release before buying, I can use memory cards, I can access almost every file anywhere without rooting. Things just WORK and don't fail all the time. And after finding Louis Rossmann's channel I now KNOW FOR SURE it was the right thing to do.

I think the lack of 3D Touch _could_ be an issue, but that could be alleviated with more haptic feedback, something we may see in future iOS 12.x version updates.

Actually iPhone doesn't use all 3 cameras for animojis or memojis. It only uses normal camera. Try covering IR cam - animojis still work.

Not possible, both the XS and the Max have different sizes compared to the XR

You need to also take into consideration how hard it is to get authorised apple parts to be replaced, even for the repair shops. Apple just sues those shops, what's the point of having a good repair score if you just have to get it repaired from apple.

I don’t get why the screws are an issue. The only people who need to open it are people trying to repair their phone. If they’re repairing it, they likely have an ifixit kit or a repair kit with their replacement part. I think the different screws are a non-issue now days

Well it's not 720p, it's 828p. And the ppi is still high enough to where you don't see pixels (unless you hold your phone like 3 inches from your face).

The back glass glued so hard to the chassis is still beyond me. It complicates such a simple repair. I hope it's as hard as they claim though, so we won't have to repair it as much.

3D touch is NOT a pre requisite for having a taptic engine. I guess this meant Apple can deploy economies of scale by using the same part (vibration motor) for ALL of their 2018 devices, Apple Watch included.

For iOS users this phone is truly a value for money in the terms of design and battery, tho ip 8+ is better option but if going for better processor and design, it's alright. But for Android users who'd like to try an iphone the standards of this phone for 800$ is just not satisfactory at all, a single camera and 720p display are huge downfalls at first and later that notch (only Samsung users point this ;)). If considering value for money phones, why not fellow iPhone users who claim it budget phone once try one plus 6t which is gonna release in few days.
