iPhone XR vs. Galaxy S10E camera comparison

When I originally filmed videos with the Galaxy S10E, both HDR10+ and HEVC were turned off. It wasn't until the files were downloaded where I noticed the "flat profile". I'm working with Samsung to determine the cause. - Patrick

That "de-saturated" look of the video at 7:32 is actually a really great feature! The phone recorded it in what is referred to as "flat mode" and the reason it looks like that is it allows you to assign your own color correction profiles without battling the color profile that the phone would have otherwise already assigned.

Just make sure you turn HDR10+ video recording in the S10e's camera settings, the video looks like this because your computer's monitor isn't compatible with HDR10+...

Jamil Aboudaher In all honesty it doesn’t matter what the image looks like on your phone screen. What matters more is how it looks on your monitor, and the majority of monitors don’t support hdr10. Most people use their camera for Facebook pictures, so having a camera that looks best on ALL monitors instead of just a few would be best.

You took the S10e video in Hdr10+. The S10 screen is the only Hdr10+ compatible phone screen at the moment afaik . You need a compatible screen or service !

the reason why it looked so flat when transfered it to the computer is you enable HDR10+ on the camera setting, that means when you share videos with hdr10+ enable you'll have a very flat video look. try and disable it on the settings menu. thank me later. also turn off the Sharing HDR10+ mode on the gallery settings.

The video from the galaxy looks flat on your screen because it's shot in hdr10. It just means that you computer doesn't support hdr. Try the same video on a samsung hdr tv :)

I love my XR! A flagship iphone ( not any phone) for less than $750 . Great camera, crazy fast A12 Bionic, very nice design and build quality. It’s been 9 months and I’m still impressed by this beast.

With flash and without flash and with and without AI setting. Samsung S10E / RedmiNote7 / Huawei PsmartZ. Redmil has an automatic setting of 10MPx (48MPx upscale with softwear). The sharpest and best and most colorful photos were with the Huawei PsmartZ flash and next with the Redmi Note 7 flash, and the most blurry photos were with the Samsung S10E smartphone, viewed from a computer screen! If there is a chance, try the Huawei Y6S, because it was also supposed to be cheap for 119 euros and have a good camera! Call sound quality and call volumes are very good with all these phone models ! On daylight Samsung makes better photos but it is more expensive than Y6, Y6s or Redmi Note !
