Went for the XR for the battery life. In Canada I bought mine for $699.00 as an open box at BB. Saved 100.00 if I had bought from the Apple Store. iPhone SE 2020 is $599.00 in Canada. The extra 100.00 for the XR was worth it.

Since most reviewers only look at dollar pricing, phone pricing seems more reasonable. However in Europe, iPhones are much more than the US. The iPhone SE is €520 for 64GB and the XR is €700 while the 11 is €800. So even the XR is still quite a steep price.

So much talk about the SE battery life. On my 1st full day I took it off charge at 09:20 at 97%. I went to bed 15hrs later at 00:20 with 4h 37m screen on time and still had 40% battery left! (took a screen shot for proof). this was social media, email, camera, you tube etc, I'm not a gamer just an average user who this phone is aimed at. To note: I do have all my background app refreshes turned off except for messaging (whatsapp etc) and analytics off to, I also have email set to refresh every 15mins. None of this stuff needs to be running pointlessly in background. Great little phone I was dying to try out because I prefer small phones. See if the 5.4" Iphone 12 is the next big little thing for me!

Exactly! In fact, the iPhone 7 for eg, was rated the most popular smartphone worldwide in 2019 (really, look it up). KZbinrs and influencers kinda trick people into thinking everybody is rich AF and has the latest and greatest 1000$ smartphones in their pockets like they have when in reality its only a percentage of people. I currently have a iPhone 6 and I’m going between the XR and the SE for my birthday/Christmas. Idk what to ask for. The size and design of the SE is the same as my 6 which i feel like is getting old for me and i kinda wanna upgrade. But i like the fact that the SE has a somewhat better/newer software overall. I want the XR for the reasons that it has Animoji/Memoji, the different color options, as well as the better battery life and bigger size. I think I’m leaning towards the XR. XR was a good buy when SE didn't exist in my opinion. Right now it has a strange place in the line up. It's not cheap. It's not expensive. It's old internally. It just doesn't make sense to me at this point. Either iPhone 11 or SE are better choices. Battery life on SE isn't fantastic but it gets the job done.

I have an XR product red that I’ve had since December 2018 and I love it! I’ve had no problems but I was thinking of trading it in for the SE just for the simple fact that I love a smaller phone! In my opinion, I think the xr is a little to big for my liking but I may just stick with the Xr since it’s been so good!! Going from Face ID to Touch ID wouldn’t bother me either if I did decide to trade!

I have a coral XR like the one in the video. It’s only a year old so keeping it for awhile. I didn’t like Samsung’s gesture navigation before I switched and almost bought an 8+ but glad I got the XR. Gestures were intuitive learned them immediately. Now prefer them over a home button.

the xr camera is nice and i like that but its literally HUGE, my small hands cannot hold it, it's like 250$ more here in canada, the display is alright but it looks somehow worse than my iphone 6 display i think because its so big, and i like how the SE has the touch ID and the A13 chip. i really dont care about battery because i have a macbook i use for youtube videos and movies etc. so my phone is really just a camera/instagram/music/texting/calling device i don't like a huge thing i keep almost dropping and the display looks kind of dim and grey idk why. i got a xr used luckily and i think i will resell it, its not bad at all it's just definitely NOT for everyone.

The battery isn’t as bad as people say for the first 18 months it lasts about 6 hours of continuous usage but now I’m 2 years in I’m going to get a battery replacement but overall great phone can’t complain about the price I’m paying monthly or the performance

i just bought an iphone xr for 450 used and it's my first ios device since getting an LG g4 in high school and moving between pixels as they released. So far loving the experience and the battery life is pretty amazing for xr. I got it over the SE for the better battery life out of the box, since I would plan on it degrading over time. Only issue I have is transferring photos from my old phone to my new one with icloud not being too intuitive to me but that's just an ios switching problem

I actually traded in my 11 pro max for the SE and I’m absolutely in love with it, the camera isn’t as good but it feels more comfortable in my hands, I like the home button more then Face ID and after having a big phone I realized I prefer the smaller phone much more for pocket space, using in hand with the lighter weight, and the the screen doesn’t hurt my eyes as much using it to watch movies or Facebooking for hours on end, I am very happy with it.

Also don’t forget that although it has the A13 Bionic the most powerful processor in any current smartphone in the market, its also the most efficient too! Basically: Get the SE if you: - Like the small form factor and prefer the old design - Don't like Face ID - Care about the extra two years of software updates - Can't pay over 400$ for a phone Get the XR if you: - Play games - Want a bigger screen - Care about the better battery life Even if I could afford the XR, i'd still go with the SE solely for its' form factor, i just love it

a13 is not much of an improvement from a12. I doubt it will last more since a7 and a8 chip got dropped together even tho the a8 have 25% cpu and 50% gpu improvement over a7 and its 28nm vs 20nm. That's just my opinion. Last 2 generation of apple cpu is basically the same aside from a bit higher clock speed.

I got the SE on launch day at Walmart for $199! It’s replacing my Xs though I’m keeping it. The SE is slightly smaller but very quick and is really doing a great job as my phone, it’s main job! It fits in pockets even with a case on very easily and fits in my hand more easily as well. The A13 is powerful but not THAT more powerful than the A12. The Xs will make a super iPod and live out its life in that capacity but the SE will serve as my phone. Battery life has been good for that job so no complaints there. I think as long as people use the SE as it is intended, it will serve their needs well.

Ninad Shelke it really depends of the amount of years you're thinking about keeping your phone for. Go for the Xr if you don't care about having software updates until 2025. If software updates are important to you, go for the SE. But keep in mind that battery life on the SE is really really bad.

go2hell746 True, the SE is a worthwhile upgrade. Even when I had the 7, I never found the need to charge while using the EarPods that were provided. I guess you could always get a 6s if having that capability is that important to you. Regardless, the jack isn’t coming back. Progress sometimes requires adjustments, this is one of them.

I sold my XR and got the new SE. I like the smaller lighter size. The display looks the same just smaller and the picture quality is better. Touch ID is a bonus now at days as well. The battery life isn’t as good but not the end of the world I charge for 30 minutes or so once a day instead of waiting till bed 🤷🏻‍♂️.

I tried the new SE for a few weeks and I couldn't get halfway through the day without having to charge it. I charge my phones every morning btw. The SE battery isn't the best for me. I'm thinking of getting a iphone se as my backup phone/ as a storage device. I could get the ipod for cheaper but a iphone for $399, you can't really beat that.

If you’re coming from iPhone 6s or 7 I’d say go for Xr if you want a Liquid Retina display and want that Face ID and good speakers also if you want a drastic change and not the same feeling of 6s or 7. Just an opinion🤷🏻‍♀️ Im in desperate need of an iPhone since my 7 is broken and I’m really saving up for iPhone Xr next month. Let me know if anyone is buying either of these or using SE

But keep in mind that the new phones won’t be announced until October which is the most recent estimates. Then about 2 weeks after the keynote they will be available but waiting times could bleed into November. So you’re looking at 6.5 months. So my argument is get an 11 now and sell it before the keynote for max value or trade it in to Apple towards the 5.4 Apple 12. This way you get to enjoy and get use out of a decent phone for those 6 long months

Patience usually pays off. You can either get the iPhone 12 which you may end up liking over the 11 or you’ll get a discounted price on the 11.

Get the iPhone 12 once it’s released. However for a temporary phone, just buy a used phone like the iPhone 7/8 or even the new SE until the 12 comes out

It has 3gb of ram Apple won’t kill it for future software updates. It’s a relatively new phone it’s almost 2 years old. However I personally would just wait until the iPhone 12 comes out so the iPhone 11 price drops so you can get the 11

It will be a while till Apple kills it’s s/w update on the XR. I have a coral & I would recommend either a Coral or Yellow. Love the red too but it’s there in most of their lineups.

adews before my brother in law returned his SE 2020 I handled it for a couple minutes. That thing is toy sized and silly for 2020. It’s good for my 10 year old niece but even she rejected it because she had a hand me down iPhone X. I have average sized hands btw. I don’t recommend this phone

If it’s just about iPhone se 2020 vs iPhone XR Then my clear pick will be XR Considering points for XR instead of SE 1. Bigger and newer notch display 2. Bigger battery 🔋 3. Feels modern iPhone So, it’s not like that the iPhone SE is a bad phone but putting in mind that SE comes with older iPhone design , display and a very small 4.7” display and battery , all these changes my mind to consider XR So yeah Surely XR wins against SE 2020
