Ellis or Overton will be tapped for big hitting if it's needed. Ashwin can also hit massively at chepauk and has even played one down as recently as this summer for his TNPL team.

@Sivajay10 pace bowling is definitely good. Khaalel is the exact replica of arshdeep singh. Nagarkoti is a 145kmph swing bowler who did wonders for U19 Wc on the team which had mavi shubhman and shaw.And Sam is a match winner and a man of the tournament of t20wc something won by the likes of Kohli and bumrah. And Nathan Ellis is another good option. And we may even include Mukesh if we need to if the conditions favour swing. And pathirana is as good as bumrah in deaths. And as far as the middle order is concerned. Sam Rahul Jadeja Ashwin Dhoni and Rachin(if needed) are really convincing options for any team. And let's not forget about backups. They can make 2 different teams and the weaker one still might finish at the 6th position or something.

This team is better than last year . I think the team looks a lot balanced on paper and with the wickets they will have in Chennai. Ashwin jaddu and noor will win you matches with the bowl itself. Only concern is a good fast bowler. There is no pathirana replacement. He has to be fit and firey.
