You're a mad scientist, Jeff! It's wild to watch the nonchalant way you drill a bunch of holes through the body of nice Gretsch like that -- gave me low-key anxiety, lol. But the selected hardware is beautiful and the end product turned out very, very nice. The offset volume & tone controls were a nice touch as well. Great video, sir. 👍

Hi! Thank you for this amazing video. I just purchased a Gin Rickey, and would like to replace the nut to one that is bone with wider string spacing for fingerstyle playing. Is there a particular nut that you would recommend?
@iplaymytele Жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for your kind words,and I hope you have a very merry Christmas.....! Well...., If you are Good at Cutting Nuts....! I would Cut a fake bone nut...! It does not smell as bad on the grinder, and also bone dust I heard actually is hard on your lungs like asbestos....! Believe it or not Bone is actually easier to manipulate because it is so dense....! I keep bone blanks here on hand just in case somebody wants real bone...! 🎵🎸🎻🎹🎤🎼 Jeff..

Howdy from Oklahoma, Jeff! I have really been enjoying these mod videos. I’ve got a Gin Rickey coming any day now. I was wondering where the best placement for the strap button is on these little guitars. I’m not too fond of having to tie it to the headstock.
@iplaymytele2 жыл бұрын
Oklahoma.....🎶Where the wind comes ripping across the plains....🎵. I’m glad you are enjoying the videos , 🙏 hope everything is going smoothly there in Oklahoma....! When putting a strap button on a acoustic guitar the most common place to put it, is on the heel on the lower half...! So if you were holding your guitar like you were playing it and you look down at the heel , the strap Button, would be on the opposite side of your heel.... This helps keep the strap from slipping off...! I suggest you use a high speed Dremel tool with a small bit in it to pre-drill the hole for the screw ...Y’all don’t want to split the heel ....! Your friend Professor Jeff Galey in Sweet home Alabama...🎵🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🎶
