Tremendous variety scales and creativity, I could easily become A professional model show attendee.

Do you attend model shows? What makes you go, what do you look for in a good show and what's your favourite? Let me know below, as well as if you'd like to see other shows covered, and what else you'd like to see in them if so....

When I first saw the thumbnail and description I thought,"What!? Salisbury had a show and I didn't know about it!?" Then I saw who created the video and realized it was the original Salisbury, not Salisbury, North Carolina, an hour's drive from my home.😅 Some great work on the tables regardless of location.

It would have been a bit of a trek for you, to be sure!

The competition would have interesting. One of our club was with the tank transporter sig. Their first show. What makes us go to show? Talk. Competition for some. Learning, and occasion bargains.

Absolutely - unfortunately I couldn't find it! It was in a separate room...somewhere! I only found out the location when I got home....

How interesting. It reminds me of the mid/late 90s when I had more time (and disposable income and hair!), and I'd go to some of the Sci-fi cons like the local ones here in Bristol, and quite a few of the Memorabilia shows at the NEC. I wish I had known about this show since there's a good chance I could have gone...

I think the next show in the calendar around the SW is North Somerset, which is held at the Helicopter Museum in Weston

I've never been to a modelling show. It appears Easingwold is my nearest but it doesn't have a train station sadly. I was disappointed that amongst all those tank recovery vehicles there wasn't a single Dragon Wagon. Once mine is completed I have a list of wanted kits; 1. Short Sunderland because my daughter (8) loves it. 2. My son (6) wants a Kriegslok because trains are still the bestest thing in the world. 3. Stug III, Su-34 Fullback, Typhoon/Tempest and one day when I'm feeling brave enough to spend far too much, Tamiya's 1/32 Mosquito FB MK. VI. Because it's the most beautiful thing to have ever flown. I fell in love aged 7, I'm now 55. Its been a long love affair. The only thing that might derail my plans - Lego Rivendell.

If you've never gone to a model show, go to Scale Modelworld in Telford - it's huge, and accompanied U16s are free entry, so taking the kids isn't cripplingly expensive. It's quite an experience!

Always a good day out. Pity Milton Keynes didn’t go ahead.

Are these very regular things? I come from a warhammer background, where you leave your army out on a tray in between matches for people to come have a good stare at, we don't really have organised exhibitions like this. I like how the gloucester club was obviously having fun with gundams on display :)

Yes there's a whole program through the year and across countries. The largest is the IPMS Telford show towards the end of the year
