He was 2 years exactly. I don't remember the weight. Probably about 75-80lb. He got his IPO3 a year later, also exactly on his birthday week.

No treats. It's a competition heeling - high attention is required from a dog. The dog is trained to focus on the handler. Actually, he is looking at my face, not chest.

@@DobermanBlog I have a question. My dog has a good heel, but he only looks up at me every once in awhile. When teaching him the heel, I wanted him to be more aware of his surroundings then of me. Is it a requirement for the dog to be staring all up in your face? Would hate to have to reteach his heel because it is perfect.

@@tylercoleman6215 The attentive heeling is required for competition. But if you are not competing - you don't have to re-train your dog. My dogs had two commands for heeling: one was for attentive heeling required for sport, and another one - for everyday walking next to me.

Thanks for replying and yes looked the video up closely and sure enough he is looking at ur eyes which means that u are en charge great work I must say I will also hope that police would take these type of exercises so they have more control over they're dogs and not putting the dog into stress situations and yes nice to see u handle your dobie probably I was definitely enjoyed by the video to the end one more question for you, is your dobie a European line he looks like it very pretty dog . Have liked the video and hope he is well And u to :)..
