Hey great video, helped clear some things up. one question. I took mine apart to replace the headphone jack, but now the touch sensor and home button arent working . Is there another connector asides from the top left corner I could've missed or screwed up? Thanks. Also, out of curiosity, what does the small gold spring do? Peace man.

@Duncanshiftsix - You likely damaged the LCD, but you'd need a proper diagnosis to determine that since you could have also damaged the logic board or LCD connector when you went in the unit.
@PowerbookMedic14 жыл бұрын
@Peopleannoymebitch - It is likely a logic board issue. I'd recommend getting it professionally diagnosed.

Sometimes you can use a brush to get the corrosion off, but you need to have experience to know what to look for and how to fix it. You can also replace the logic board to fix the issue as a lot of times brushing away the corrosion does not work.

My ipod became a little wet, so I let everything dry for a day, and everything works other than my backlight. My girlfriends little brother dropped her iTouch in the toilet (it fell off the shelf above... just water in the toilet thank goodness). She then put it in a bowl of rice and all worked well. Now about a month later DEATH is starting to take its toll. The only think that is wrong is that half the time it doesn't recognize any kid of WiFi signal. (half the time meaning sometimes it does then it disconnects.) Is there a wifi replacement for a 3G? (same exact kind in this vid 32GB as well.)

luckily just the corner cracked for me, so it was merely cosmetic. From now on i've ALWAYS used a razor blade to either cut away the plastic on the corner if it's damaged and pushed in, or used the razor in between the plastic and the glass to guide it in. Works a lot better than cracking the screen lol.

How hard is it to replace the doc connector in a ipod touch 3g. My brothers ipods doc connector stopped working and and won't charge his ipod, so he needs to have it replaced. A friend accidentally poured a sweet drink on my 12 year old 3rd gen. It continues to work but stops responding to touch. The buttons physically feel sticky when you move it. In fact, when I opened it up to clean it, the inside was covered in sweet ooze as well. Disassembly went fine, no problems, but in the process of disassembly, I should mention that my middle screen touch digitizer, bezel frame, broke. It was obviously very old, and no matter how much I tried to open it carefully, it still broke. How do you fix it, i.e. replace it? Is there a video, a manual on the WEB? It seems to use adhesive to attach it, and it looks simple, but I still want to learn how to do it sooner.

Do I have any chance to fix it ?Thanks;)
