iPod Touches: How to Fix Home Button Not Working, Broke, Unresponsive, Hesitant, Delayed, etc

If you have an iPod Touch where the home button is not working, broken (you think), stuck, jammed, not clicking, unresponsive, delayed, hesitant or ghosting then try all these methods first before taking anything apart. At least 50% of you should have a working home button by the end of the video. If you tried all the steps in this video and still no go, then you need to the ipod to a repair shop or take it apart yourself for a fix.

Cleaning with alcohol and cotton swabs solved my problem! Thank you a lot! I had considered it before but I was reluctant in case it would totally damage my device. It worked wonders though!

Does the alcohol solution also works with the power button (or a 5G touch sleep/reset button)??

It looks like my home button was depressed too hard. It is sunken slightly. It works, but you have to press it many times before it works. Is there a way to get it back up flush with the iPod without taking it apart or taking it to a shop?

Solutions always make logical sense, yet I always damage my electronics. I just did a simple thermal paste application for my laptop, was supposed to be a cake walk, and I broke plugs when prying cables off the circuit board, plastic RAM holder, stripped screws and had to file them out. Laptop is broken now. I recently destroyed a VHS tuner, because I grabbed the wrong power cable. And made my radio more staticky when I sprayed WD-40 on the tuning capacitor. I barely put a microfiber cloth on my TV and stripped off the anti-glare coating at that one spot. Everything I touch breaks. I want to do this alcohol cleaning, but with my misfortune, I wipe damage the button more.
