This is the first time I've heard this since I was 3 or 4. I immediately recognised it. My mum took me with her to see this. I don't know why but this brings back my earliest memory of going to the theatre. Mum passed away last December. She'd love this. Thank you for posting.

I was very fortunate to see the original in Johannesburg. Quite apart from the beautiful music and performance, it had a great poiniancy for a young, nieve white immigrant with no anticipation of the way the coloured were treated.
