Tipu did not have missiles. Missiles refer to projectiles with guidance. Tipu had only rockets. Rocket technology was available with Europeans as early as thirteenth century, having come from China. It did not gain importance in Europe as cannons fared better in wars. It was already used by Hyderali who probably used it because he could not get a better technology.
