I posted links to articles as well as studies on this topic. Being successful does not make your dating prospects easier if you make lots of money & to be clear, this is relating to folks in the top 2-3%. This isn't a discussion to dissuade people from being ambitious, just to understand that being ambitious at work will not necessarily translate well to your dating life. Especially if you limit yourself to ppl on your "level". Choices have consequences understanding that reality is important whether it be to make changes or to adjust your course.

I'm 30 years old, me and my wife have been together for 13 years and we have 3 children. I'm a disabled stay at home dad and I am completely made fun of by my wife's friends, family and even my own family for being a stay at home dad. It's funny that people have had opinions about me and my wife but completely dont have their own shit together. We have a good relationship, a house, a car and its completely off the back of my wife but guess what, the kids are takin care of, house is clean, car always has gas, I have my own bbq recipes, and my kids are respectful and well mannered. I always get asked by my boys, how have you made this work? Well for me and my lady it's never been about money and I've been less fortunate with my health since I was 19 and she stuck around. Love you Michelle. Modern woman are trippin

As a woman I agree on this, guys really don't look at our salary, college degree and what career we have. My boyfriend told me he loves me because he knows I'm decent, I didn't hook up with a lot of guys, that we both like music, we went to highschool together and share a lot of memories, and that we can laugh together and at each other. I realized that men's requirements for dating women are simple to figure out. I support my boyfriend with his career, when he's stressed with work I just give him space, I don't demand stuff from him, I cook food for him. It's simple to make your man happy. And yes, being agreeable is a big factor in a relationship. PS. And he does his part on the relationship too.. He makes me happy, attentive and protective of me.. I feel blessed to have my man and be his priority too. ❤️

For what it’s worth from a woman’s perspective, this is the advice I would give ladies if they were to ask (which they don’t). Dear Ladies, When considering a mate, pay very close attention to how these potential mates treat people who can do nothing for them. People who make the effort to show respect for service workers, for example, are statistically more likely to be a genuinely respectful person. Kindness, compassion, loyalty, respect, consideration are KEY. Money and physical beauty come and go but those traits are a solid bet. Furthermore, ask yourselves if YOU are displaying these traits. At the end of the day, the absolute most valuable thing you can find is someone who you can turn your back on knowing you’re safe and you will never feel a blade between your ribs. This is assuming these traits are important to you. That being said, you must first determine what is TRULY important to you and seek out those core qualities in your potential mates. This requires a great deal of self assessment and self honesty. Begin there and you’ll be ahead of the game. Sincerely, Alex

I don’t understand why people live life in their ego. Guys and girls like to identify themselves with things like “alpha” “top %1” “queen” when literally no one has any form of identity. You were given a name, you were given this expectation to be the top %, you were given entitlement. Nothing about your identity is real, but what is real is you. Your awareness, how you were formed over the years, your personality, all that is you. You suffer because you desire what others do. Others suffer because you inflict wounds onto other people that are not your own. Society has taught you to suppress your true self and hide it under a gilded mask of conquest and pleasure. If you want to have a genuine relationship, start embodying love and stop viewing dating like power dynamics.

My husband would love my business to become the sole income, he wants to play tinkerer and mad scientist (he's licensed to make fireworks and he's currently doing a chicken-cam with lasers somehow involved 😆). I'm working on diversifying and expanding my part-time business now that the kids are older and doing well. It's like me asking a doctor how do the police operate, they may both be emergency services but they operate completely differently and a doctor will only ever be guessing at the operations of the police. I’m married and have been in a relationship for the past 10 years but as a woman who has a high paying job this is very true. I found that for me, my struggle when dating was I didn’t have time and Aba mentions that. I was working 70+ hours a week and even though I love my job and my career dating was rough. The only reason I’m in my current relationship is because (my husband now) the guy I dated during my study abroad in college decided to come to the US for his masters and we reconnected. Also for the women in the video who are coming up with these scenarios I’d honestly be curious to know how much they make or even what they do. The idea of saying someone on “your level” is very vague. Does that only extend to economical standards?

It’s really sad to see that the mind set of, “on my level” for most financially successful women centers mostly on how much a man makes. What ever happened to a man having good morals, being a suitable father figure to his children, respectful, a productive communicator, emotionally stable and so many more attributes money can’t buy? There are plenty of high value men out here who are terrible husbands and absent fathers. Somehow the money seems to blind most. The worst part, like Aba states, is these men are unattainable to a lot of women because there are too few of them out here. So many have a terrible case of FOMO and it’s shows.

I've had guys literally come out and say 'you are too good for me' when they have amazing characteristics as a person and thats what im attracted too. One guy I bumped into after he didnt wabt to see me said he's now miserable with a girl who gives him daily stress but he turned me down because I was too good i assume financially. Insane. There are a lot of guys who want the perfect girl but do not want to put any effort into getting to know someone and have very low self esteem. Its a shame. Guys a job or money does not make a woman its her personality and morals. I even got passed over for a bulimic schizophrenic with no job because my ex wanted to feel like a man by controlling someone who isn't even in control of themselves then complained when she ruined him that there are no good women out there. It’s frustrating that people can’t realize that both genders are treated unfairly, especially in the dating market. Women’s standards have raised to no end, while society has kicked down and devalued men. If you’re a man who makes $100k a year, you’re now less valuable than a woman who makes the same. Our natural instinct as men was to provide and protect women and children, when we can’t do so we get severely depressed. Most of the time if a woman can’t find someone to settle down with, they get severely depressed. But it’s true that the more value you have yourself, the smaller of a pool you look for partners in. And society has created a jagged system where women’s contributions are considered worth more than men’s, restricting the available dating market more. Then on top of that you have the narcissists who won’t settle, the people who don’t want to, and the people who have been discouraged from dating and/or settling down because of past trauma, toxic relationships, being seen as a sexual object, being rejected by the few people they saw as potential partners, or being a man who needs emotional support, but is seen as weak by women subconsciously if they show it. A big part of the problem has come from the push against a family culture and towards a sex based culture, leading people to not want to settle down or use other people. You also have to keep in account that courts are rigged against men. If a divorce occurs, only the man has to split his assets with his wife, even if the wife is the bread winner. Men lose custody of their children most of the time, even if they’d be a better parent and guardian than the mother would be. And child support rarely flows from the mother to the father, even if the father DOES get custody of the kid. The problem isn’t that people have equal opportunities, but that we’ve began to shame stay at home Dads, and devalued women if they don’t chase a career. We’ve pushed for a culture that contradicts itself. Every marriage should be a decision made between the two parents, but society devalues people if they take on certain roles, even if they’re carrying their weight.

Or maybe not all women want a traditional marriage or relationship where they are a stay-at-home mom/wife, and that's okay. Yet, it's men with this mentality that complain when there is a separation or divorce; they don't want to pay alimony or child support. Cool, so you want the woman to stay home, look after the kids and run a household, so she doesn't work, or it's very minimal, definitely wouldn't make enough to support herself. Then complain later on when she asks for child support or alimony when she's been out of the workforce for how many years, doing unpaid housework and child-rearing, so she hasn't been accumulating or saving any money. It sounds like a catch -22 😕🤔

@@elias4716 I'm not touching the alimony/child support thing right now. Your framing it in a stay at home perspective(like y'all are victims) which is wrong. IN MOST SITUATIONS, it's set up for wxmxn to win both and the government to make money off it. Exception is if you marry down(you'd still get the children& support btw). Anyway, what you haven't considered is y'all are petty af. Alot of you don't want to have a true 50/50 with your partner nor do you want to reverse gender roles. You still want man that makes more than you and can take care of you but "you don't need him". So basically...a normal man/woman relationship but you have money Incase it doesn't work out. Worst of y'all you have ladies who think they deserve this but have not considered what men are attracted to(youth, fertility, cooperation) and how it VASTLY differs from the laundry list of things you need for attraction. Ex: We don't care about your money or career. We aren't taught to want you to take care of us and you won't anyway. It's literally just your money. Without taking into account the sacrifices made to their personal time etc. At the end of the day, it's food for thought and nothing more. If you're happy in a relationship then great. Yeah deserve better doesn't mean you getting the best of the best. It means you get the best thing for you. I deserve better simply means that you are a whole human who is worthy of true love, honesty, happiness, and a partner who meets your needs. It does not mean you sit on a throne and eat grapes while those you love do everything for you. You do deserve better than a cheater, you deserve better than a liar, you deserve better than a abusive partner, etc. It does not mean you get to remain a shifty human. You become better and thus deserve better
@Jake38nine
@Jake38nine 2 жыл бұрын
You only deserve better based on how you treat others and how hard you work for certain things. The idea that women deserve better without any accountability to what they bring to the table is entitlement delusion. If you never cheat and always stay loyal, then you deserve a man who is loyal to you and doesn't take advantage of that. You have to do something to deserve something. Women are often born into thinking their looks or having a vagina makes them entitled to everything. Nah. Your vagina is 1 in a billion. But what 1 woman does have, 20 other women may not have. Like heart, loyalty, communication skills, logic, a brain, kinks, ect... Just because a woman has a nice body or vagina does not entitle them to anything. And most of the time it's abusive, toxic men and women who will use their looks and sex appeal for their own gain. You think the modeling industry cares about you? They will replace you so quickly after you turn a certain age. No different from porn either. Your looks have an expiration date. And women can't stand being told that. Your looks will expire. If you have nothing else of value, then don't be surprised that you turn out to be a soured raisin.
@cmore1580

@@Jake38nine I do think a lot of the "deserve" from my family comes from who I am, not what I look like. You're right in that we deserve someone that respects us the way we respect them. I don't agree that women are born entitled, I think pretty women become entitled when they are able to manipulate the people around them with their looks. There are plenty of men (and other women) that can be won over with a pretty smile. I suppose that's where the idea of pretty privilege comes from?

@@paccawacca4069 It is supported that most mothers try at first, but sometimes it doesn’t work out. There’s issues like not being able to produce enough milk so they supplement with formula or find it very painful to breastfeed. Some women honestly just don’t know that there’s benefits to breastfeeding over formula because it’s been studied that some races get certain information pushing them towards breastfeeding while others get pushed towards formula feeding. Some mothers don’t have as much time because they don’t have as much help in care as other mothers. There’s so many disparities economically, racially, etc., that it doesn’t seem ok to call a non breast feeding mother selfish and what not, without truly knowing the circumstances; with each case being different and there being a lot of gray area between a mother who can and can’t, it’d be unfair to see it that way. Creating the stereotype that “ men get insecure” about his woman making more than him, “ she wearing the pants in the house comments” Men don’t care if she makes alot of money or very little. We have the provider instinct because if she is carrying our offspring that instinct will also be there, but we can control it. There is the issue of woman losing attraction for a man cause he can’t provide in that moment and her telling her girlfriends about his struggle, and creating gossip that gets back to him. The issue of her making money is not something about men its about woman being unable to control their association of money , attraction and social status. Modern are lost in a world of forever window shopping until its too late and Aint no man want them, because they can’t give him the most important thing to a man. Fatherhood! A woman past 30 losess 90% of her eggs. Making pregnancy very risky for her and the baby. So their brain and body make the risk analysis in the subconscious.
