I think the difference is it was them "black men" making the joke , while Andrew is a white man making the joke , it seems like they are co signing the jokes which seems racist to the black women since they are the butt of the joke

So youre fine with black men joking about how undesirable black women are, but not white men? I dont even subscribe to this stuff but If anything, its 10x worse when black men joke about it because those are people from your own community saying "hurtful" stuff. As a black woman, I don’t care anymore. I’ve accepted how the world sees me and I move accordingly. I’m not “ghetto” “ratchet” “abusive”, I have no kids while being in my late 20s, a good education, I’m articulate and I know I am all these things and don’t need to prove it to anyone bc I have someone in my life who sees me and as long as he sees me that’s all that matters. Though honestly for a while it hurt that no matter what I did I was topic of conversation for black men and for every other man. It felt like every race including my own looked down on me and wanted nothing to do with me. A lot of people don’t get that and oddly a lot of black men don’t get how much it hurts to hear them rip into us, that bc they were “bullied” by a black girl in school it’s no ok to bully black woman. Sorry for the tangent I genuinely hate the target on black women’s backs.

But when these spineless two BM let it slide (regardless of whether they hate BW or not, not defending a BW against a WM making this joke makes them look bad and weak.) Let's not pretend that when compared to men of other races(especially WM), being spineless has been held against BM & until BM like these stand up to men of other races they will always be seen as weak by other races of men & they will never get that proximity to whiteness they yearn for so much. The issue is that when Andrew made jokes about Nigerians Fuad and James defended Nigerians and tampered down the joking about Nigerians signaling to Andrew that there was a line. But when the jokes targeted black women they laughed with their whole chest in total agreement. So they cared more about defending their Nigerian culture than about defending their black sisters, mothers and aunts.

I don’t think anything is wrong with jokes on stereotypes, culture, sex, race, etc. The joke just has to be good, or it’ll come off negatively to most. In this case the joke wasn’t funny so it landed bad.
@MrAyuub224 ай бұрын
You can't know if a joke is bad without telling it. People simply dont understand comedy and want a special pass to not be the butt of a joke. Black women routinely make jokes about white men.

Unfortunately Andrew isn't one to handle being told his jokes are low hanging fruit one could easily hear in a frat house. they get really butt heart over in that podcast when anyone says they're jokes aren't funny. and start throwing around a lot off buzz words like triggered, soft, cancel culture , edgy etc. never once does it occur to him that some times the simplest answer is the truth. It wasn't funny.

@@autumn551 Andrew laughed at what happened. He couldn't give a shit whether you find him funny or not. Comedy is subjective and a comedian obviously knows that.The reality is you never even took it as a joke. Theres nothing here for you to find funny because you took it literally.

James saying he used to have such a stigma against black girls is interesting. Some mixed men with white mums choose to never associate with black women because they don't know their black side and don't need to. Wonder if that's the case for him.
@brandond19474 ай бұрын
I think this is true but I also think it depends on your location. Ik mixed kids that grew up poor and they were associated with blk people. J cole is another ex of that as well Also colorism is a thing as well. In America lightskin men do get portrayed as being soft and emotional by blk men and blk women. So I think his reality is real and probably did create negative stimgas about blk women

Black women have been severely disrespected for too long. And although one can argue that we play a role in our own demise, black men definitely are a large part of the reason as well. There aren’t enough black men stepping up to defend the honor of the black women. This is why other races feel no shame coming for us on a public level.
@uncletea56324 ай бұрын
It honestly can’t be though. Black women are not a monolith. They just get the worst end of the stick in terms of adjectives. An abusive Latina is called “spicy,” but a black woman who stands up for herself verbally is called “aggressive.” Same reason Sabrina Carpenter can make a song completely about sex, but only the MegantheStallion’s are associated with vulgarity.
@uncletea56324 ай бұрын
You can’t allow yourself to get bogged down into the politics of respectability. If every black woman acted just like every other woman, guess what ? They’d still be treated the same. Why ? Purely because all human behaviors overlap. Some women are vulgar, some are abusive, some are toxic. Those things are not exclusive to black women. You set yourself up taking on the words of racists as fact.
