---- STORY: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Austrian and Hungarian IPSC Rifle Nations 2019 in Ravazd/Hungary.
Probably my most favourite IPSC Rifle Match so far, even Though I had some serious technical issues that caused me to almost zero 2 entire stages, and some lost points due to some lack of awareness: I shot through the very top of a ~10m barricade when engaging some more distant 50m targets, causing the hits not to score. I did the math on where I could have placed avoiding these issues but it doesn't help. Other shooters were having issues too.
So afterall it was a really great match and a learning experience. Despite having these problems I really enjoyed the match an beeing around the IPSc community big time and hope for a similar match in 2021. 2020 likely got canceled because of Covid, as you probably have guessed...

Cool video, nice stages and good skills overall. What's happened with extractor spring? I'm thinking of rifle to choose and interesting in the reliability of different models. Is this RD-9 was somewhat upgraded? Or if not, then how many shots was done before that happened?

Thanks! The RD-9 is a 9mm AR-9 geared mainly towards IPSC/USPSA type PCC competitions based on the CMMG delayed blowback action. The type of competition shown however is IPSC Rifle for "full power" 556/223 type ARs, and thats also what I used in this video. The bolt internal springs used were tubb enhanced silicon steel springs that I suspected to be of better quality than standard "milspec" type stuff. The extractor spring however broke after about 3000 rounds total, so thats not what a normal quality spring in this application would last. Keep in mind that thats only a sample size of one, so I can't speak for the overall quality of those springs. It feels like an unusual incident though. But basically the spring broke in half, significantly degrading it's tension and the extractor hook kept slipping over the rim of the case failing to extract it from the chamber after firing, causing severe malfunctions. In PCC competitions I use a custom 9mm blowback thats mostly based on traditional 9mm AR parts. I got mine to run extremely reliable and with a nice recoil characteristic so I didn't felt like switching to a more advanced platform. RD-9s/CMMG delayed systems and other designs like the MPX are softer shooting because of lower reciprocating mass though.

Wow I'd be interested to know which european countries allow semi auto centre fire rifles. I've done a bit a research and found out that austria is a lot more relaxed on them as compared to Germany

I don't know the details about German gun laws, for Austria you need to fulfill a couple of requirements in order to own that type of gun: www.oesterreich.gv.at/themen/dokumente_und_recht/waffenrecht/2/Seite.2450800.html It will be registered in a central register and there are regulations on how they need to be stored and handled during transportation. Any violations of that or alcohol, drug abuse, vilolence, threatening people, and stuff of that nature will void that license very quickly.
