It really is a testimony to how poorly Ipswich have done over the years that this ancient clip was the last time Town beat these mighty two time League Cup Winners.

@AJRead2 I believe I spelt won correctly. My point is that Ipswich are a big club that should be pushing for promotion to the Prem. They haven't got anywhere near that in recent years. Hence the reason they are poor. Norwich have had excellent players recently and in the past. The reason we went down is because most players were loan signings. Too many to make up a regular, committed team. Few players played with their hearts and too many didn't because they could go back to their parent club.

@AJRead2 Well, I strongly believe that Norwich can reach the play-offs this season. I know it's still early days but we have a strong enough side with a winning mentality, thanks to Paul Lambert. I can't see Ipswich reaching any higher than mid-table this season. Not a bad start from them though and Jason Scotland will be a great asset.

And if they did, I'm sure one of us would pick it up pretty quickly. Anyway, yes, Notts County and Bury have won the FA cup. Well over 100 years ago. But looking at recent honours is perfectly sensible, I think. No-one outside the top flight has won the FA Cup for 30 years - West Ham in 1980. And I'm not saying Norwich is a bad team, just not as good as Ipswich.

Only 44 towns, cities and boroughs can say that their team is in the top two flights and Ipswich and Norwich are two of them. Many hundreds can't. When Ipswich went up to the top league in 2000, we came 5th. Just a few years later, in 2004, when Norwich went up, they came 19th. And I am fine with you using those things (loan signings, etc.) for a reason but not as an excuse. That still made a bad team
