Ipswich is my hometown. But I was in Brisbane, so I got evacuated to the RNA showgrounds. It is devastating to watch houses to go under, and lives lost. Thatnks for uploading the video to show people how bad the flood is.

Thank you for your comment monjon868 :-) We at VideoVision take directives from Emergency Response People seriously and always keep out of their way so they can do their job. We are filming in areas we can get to and get out of. But I believe this is one way that we can do our bit for the community so they don't put themselves in danger. There are too many people wanting to see what is going on. My advise to people: Let Emergency Services do their job.

My mums work was on the corner of that coles at the time. I remember the day. I was staying with a friend in Collingwood park. And my mum got evacuated from her work. I was meant to stay another night but she came and got me and told me we had to go straight home. The highway had filled partially with water because of the roadwork and lack of drains at the time.

I also remember. We lived in Inala at the time. And went to the big Oxley roundabout and that’s highway was filled with water. I remember I saw someone’s roof or a house float passed. There were storage containers everywhere. It was crazy.

4:03 Damn... Looking at the river today really puts it into perspective. That's gotta have been at least a 10 metre rise judging by how close that bridge is to the water, no wonder all those house's went under.

It was closer to 20m. This time is was only 16m and still did massive damage.

great video mate ,apart from the devastation. flooding can be like a quite beast at times . better footage than any of the free to air stuff .lets hope that there is a speedy recovery and remember that alot of people where killed in 74 due to electricution after the event. so to anyone reading that may be involved ,take care.

I remember about 9 of us in a 7 seated car when I was like 5 and we went to the floods to look at it just as it was going down. Me and my older brother layed down in the boot of the car so no one saw us will my dad, mum, nan, "step grandfather", and lil sister sat in the normal seats. We had to evacuate because if we didn't our house wouldn't have gone under but we would be about to leave. We were on a hill with a bunch if other houses so it we stayed we would have got stuck on top of that hill. This was one of obstacles main events. And yesterday was 42.6°c one of the hottest days recorded and the firework going off in a shopping container in bundamba, and the 150 something fires in genual.
