A brilliant night of football and this is the reason I love doing what I do and getting to games like this, the passion and love for the clubs, to see how happy the Ipswich fans were about virtually getting promotion, there’s no sport like it for me.

Great performance by Ipswich last night. Definitely the best team I've seen at Oakwell this season by a country mile. Your fans were fantastic too, the limbs and noise were unreal. I thought we played decent at times, especially in the first half but just didn't create any real clear opportunities and Ipswich did and were very clinical when they needed to be. Best of luck in the Championship where I think you'll really well with this squad and a sprinkling of some new additions. Both me and my brother said last night you're definitely a championship level squad as you are today. Also, the "Norwich City, we're coming for you" chant fair made me chuckle.

I've been a huge Ipswich fan since the 1970s (!!!) but I've always had a big old soft spot for Barnsley and their fans. Best of luck to them. Four teams deserve to go up from L1 this year. What a season. I'm ecstatic but I cannot imagine how awful will feel to be the one that misses out (well, actually I can, I''m an Ipswich fan lol)

Other than the cracking goals, fun highlights Barnsley fan saying they were going to "blow us away" and the Town fans who left before half time to get to front of beer queue, then missed Broady's goal, came back celebrated then left again and missed Hirst's wonder strike. Started subscribing after you covered Town at Bolton. Love tour honesty about your own team as well as the others in the hunt for promotion. This season alone reinforces my beliefs that the play-offs are shite - Plymouth, Town and Wednesday have been fighting over the tope three for ao long, anyone other than those three get promoted, its a travesty!

@@aroundthegrounds1 you looked like a team that was playing above itself, based on confidence and momentum and a good defence, but not creating that much and not (with respect) having enough quality in depth. I think the Ipswich 2-2 slightly rattled your team but it was the Barnsley loss that really did it, and they haven’t recovered. Injuries haven’t helped but that goes back to the lack of depth and quality and the failure in Jan to strengthen. Ipswich’s run is largely caused by four superb transfers in Jan (Hirst, Broadhead, luongo and Clarke) all of whom have made a massive difference. Before that we had flashes of brilliance but had run out of steam and teams had worked out how to combat our slow passing game. McKenna also changed style to be more direct. I think we have the core of a good championship side and will find it easier against teams who want to play football rather than shit*housery. Anyhow, it’s been a rough end to the season for you boys but don’t give up. You’ve got two cup finals over two legs then who knows.

Barnsley fan. Well done Ipswich and plymouth. Reds results have been great at home, we’re not in the form we were in when we beat Wednesday Plymouth and Derby, and even towards the end of the unbeaten run we were starting to struggle on the road. I think it will be tough for us and Wednesday in the playoffs, because we’ve both dropped off the pace.
