Humphrey is so well spoken here. No thrills. No smoke and mirrors. A real sense of honesty in the journey so far and the journey to come. He knows his role, where the club are at doesn't pretend it is anything else.

@LudiCrust. If you are talking about his job as executive director at Wrexham, he didn't beat anyone out. He had worked for Rob for years and was the person instrumental in setting up a matrix to choose a lower league club to purchase. He, therefore, was a logical person to send over to Wrexham as a liaison between the owners and the club. That is how he described his job in the first season of the documentary.

@@bartman01021988 Football doesn't work like that. When I first became a Manchester United fan in the 70s, I had no idea of its history or of the Munich air disaster. My school in North Wales was full of United supporters. None of us knew of the history but we'd been introduced to United in one way or another. An uncle of mine had the opinion that United only became the biggest club in the world because of Munich. Suddenly, everyone knew about the club. This may turn out to be no different, although as a result of a happier accident.

@@OxtonSWA Yup. I know. However, football works in mysterious ways. An uncle of mine many years ago once said of Man United that the reason they became the biggest club in the world was because of Munich. The show and the owners here are having the same effect. I'm not saying that Wrexham are going to become the biggest club in the world but you forget one thing. It's the only professional club outside the Welsh leagues in North Wales. Most of us already support them in one way or another but have typically chosen either Manchester United or Liverpool (no idea why any Welsh person would support Liverpool after Tryweryn) as our primary team. It won't take a huge amount of effort to make those people turn up more often to Wrexham games. They are the flag bearers for the whole of North Wales.

I am a Wrexham fan from Chicago. The first full season, I tried to get a shirt and could not. All were sold out. The second full season of the takeover. I began streaming the National League matches as soon as they were available. This past season, I have been an iFollow season ticket holder and manage to get two jerseys and two caps. I'm glad to hear that the Wrexham streaming income is the biggest in the lower three leagues. One of the reasons I subscribed is that a significant portion of the fee goes directly to the club. One way I can support them without traveling.

My "awareness" of professional soccer outside of world cup and my cities team (Richmond VA) has been extremely minimal. Until Wrexham... I don't know why, but what has happened, is I am checking results on match day, I am watching highlights, and the KZbin algorithms are feeding me European and English Soccer content. Hell, I even visited Copenhagen last month with my family and we caught a professional match. Both my boys play soccer, and now their closet is filled with English and European kit because they get into what I get into. So make of this what you will. As a Wrexham fan for the last 22 years I’ll honestly be happy to be an established league one side as I believe that’s where Wrexham deserves to be minimum! especially after we were the first team to have points deducted when in administration through dodgy owners and Leicester getting promoted to the premiership while being in admin the season before. hence why the brought in points deduction. Established league one side and eventually getting into the championship and being settled there. I live in South Carolina in the US, Wrexham has become world wide! I've been a huge fan of Rob and Ryan for the longest. I saw Ker first in his side character role in an episode of It's Always Sunny. His wife is also a writer and used to produce the Its Always Sunny podcast, and she is great at keeping the gang focused, and she's funny. But I've been following Wrexham since Rob and Ryan announced they were buying it. Not a huge football fan, but I love keeping up with the team and watching the highlights when I can. And then watching W2W has let me see the town and the people and I love them all!

Wrexham still owe £9m to the owners and are actually posting losses (around $6.4m). FFP dictates that they can only spend 50% of their turnover on players (which includes wages). Wrexham could probably feasibly spend around £2-3m on players next season which is good compared to the rest of the league, however League 1 has some massive clubs in it with wealthy owners and good players. Look at Birmingham, Wigan, Reading, Posh (if they don''t go up), Bolton (if they don't go up), Barnsley (if they don't go up) Charlton... These are difficult teams to beat with big fan bases and it will cost a lot more money to lure Championship players down to League 1 than it did to lure League 1 players down to League 2.

Wrexham fan from Massachusetts. I just can't get behind the MLS. My parents lived in Chelsea but I feel no connection there. I've been searching for a team to support for years. Finally found it. Now I look forward to every Saturday morning. It's simply astonishing what these owners have done for the club, the town and its citizens in such a short time. Not only on the field but the local economy etc. They're owners that players dream of playing for; owners with emotional investment who don't simply view the team in monetary terms. I can't wait to see Wrexham in the PL one day. I truly believe it will happen sooner or later.

Not a Wrexham supporter myself, by my coworker is massively. He's traveled internationally twice in the last year to go to matches. even if the new wave of fans from everything but football seems contrived, there's no denying its good for the people from the town and its good for the EFL as a whole. the concept of promotion and relegation has been an enigma for most American fans, now having them following Wrexham, they are starting to understand it, and also why it makes the EFL one of the most dynamic leagues in all sports in the world. its building support for the sport stateside, and is massive for our country as well.

One of the most interesting aspects of the documentary show to me is the way the owners build a really solid management team that seems to come together well. They were able to recruit a set of players that were well above the league two level, but that wouldnt have worked without a lot of great groundwork.

Difference with Salford and Wrexham is the community. The Welsh seem to be very passionate about their clubs and heritage. From day 1 of Rob and Ryan owning the football club it has always been what is best for the community? How do they make the club better again without just spending loads of money on pointless things? Like the expenses have been high but the players they brought in were the right fit for them.

I believe the team can get promoted again into the championship next season. But that's when I believe the team will struggle a bit. The main reason is that they do not have the facilities in place to sustain long success at the top of the championship. The team will lack funds to get those top players. In my opinion they need to start upgrading stuff quickly. But unless they upgrade their seating to 40k+ I really don't see them competing with the top premiere league teams if they do get promoted in the future to the Prem. So if that's their goal then there is still a lot of work for them to do.

Humphrey comes across like a top bloke. Seems to know his stuff as well. I don’t feel like there’s too much of a gap between League Two and League One, Wrexham very well could be competing again next year. The real problems start when you reach the Championship, like my club Millwall finds out every year. When you’ve got no money you’re competing against relegated Premier League sides who have hundreds of millions it’s a struggle. When you can only spend £2m-£5m on one player it’s very difficult to compete against clubs spending £15m-£20m on multiple players. Hence why you always see the same clubs getting promoted and relegated from the Premier League/Championship. The money is just ridiculous compared to the rest of the league.

Ipswich is a better known, bigger club with a bigger fan base. Wrexham can be a Premier League club, but it's difficult to maintain that status. Luton, Burnley and Sheffield United are going down to Championship now in 2024 and they're bigger than Wrexham. Bournemouth went down after 8 years with Eddie Howe, but somehow came up again, so there's a hope with Wrexham with 2 Americans involved. Great to see a Welsh club in the top division after Swansea and Cardiff City!
