I remember watching this movie back when Toon Disney was a thing, I liked it as it was like a Prequel to the original Wizard of Oz movie. Particularly at how the Wicked Witch of the East was the main villain, as before then, she was really just "That One Witch Who Was Killed by a Falling House."

"The Wizard of Oz" was a book first. The original movie version was made in 1910, but this movie isn't connected to it, or to any other film version of "Wizard." And if you'll remember, in the 1939 one, Dorothy dreamed the whole Oz adventure, including the Lion and the Wizard.

This shows how much the MGM version has affected people's perceptions of Oz. Baum never said the the Wicked Witches of the East and West were sisters, and yet because of the 1939 movie, people think they are.

+Armand Deblois The Awgwas are the villains from L. Frank Baum's story, The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus. They're basically demons who influence humans to do evil, particularly children. In the story, they try to kill Santa Claus because he started making toys that made children happy, which made it more difficult to corrupt their spirits and make them miserable.
