Crex, your track guides are almost always the best for the Mazda in iRacing. I'm about 50 laps into my first try at Oran Park and can stick with you until the bridge -- but then I lose .6 in the next two corners! Personal best so far 1:15.682. It would be great if you would post/track your laps with Garage 61, so I/we could do a telemetry analysis. (I'd buy you several coffees!) Alternatively, post a video showing how to use the free version of Motec (or something) to compare your .ibt file with mine.

Thanks! I'm eyeing it (garage 61) for the next update of the series, although I can't tell yet when that will be.

Hey man I’ve been watching videos since I started racing and they helped a lot! I’m wondering if you’re using a single or triple monitors. And also what fov do you use? I use the fov calculator to get a realistic fov but I can’t see no Apex most of time which makes me have to drive with lines.

I'm using a single screen setup, and yeah the way you set it up is correct. It helps you to judge your surroundings in the sim which is more important than seeing the apex. You can make small adjustments by a few degrees in your favor to see a bit more, but you should stay in the general area the calculator gave you as result. You don't need to drive with the racing line, I'm not seeing most of the apexes when I'm right on them and I don't need it either. First, because you want to look ahead of you anyways, meaning that seeing the apex is only important when you are approaching the turn - which is always possible. Second, when you're already in the turn you want to rely on your FFB. Over time you will naturally develop a sense for the size of your car, and since you will drive hundreds, if not thousands of laps on certain tracks everything will become natural at some point if you lean into it and learn the tracks. With leaning into it I mean getting rid of the racing line. The racing line will hold you back, because your eyes will be glued to the tarmac instead of important visual cues on and around the track

@youtuber-cc8sx I figured out my issue, essentially I was braking to early and the car hadn't straightened out. My laptimes still suck though 1:18s I did get into the 1:17s
