Been iRacing for several years now but have never learned so much in under an hour. Thanks for Part 1 and 2 and you have a new viewer for life!

You discussed the tip that I had just learned last week, the brake axis modification. This has absolutely been one of the best things that I've done for my driving. I was never comfortable with my braking, and was losing a lot of time to some drivers there. Now, with some tweaking, I can "Daniel Ricciardo" it on the brakes. Well, when he was with Red Bull. Fantastic job as always David!

Really appreciate the optimal sector tip, and I think I'll switch from Session Optimal Lap. Due to track temp variance between sessions, and the possibility that the car itself has changed since setting my best lap, I use Session Optimal instead of All-Time. It may be too much for me to extract anything useful from such quickly changing data (as sectors are so short), but if I can re-train my mind to shift from laptime interpretation to sector, the latter is definitely more useful when evaluating your lap in real time. And I hadn't ever considered that it may keep me from abandoning laps (even if only mentally) during practice sessions.

Hey man.. I love your videos. You are very clear and on point on your explanations so I wanted to give you a big shoutout. Do you do track guides? I would love to see those from you. There are some around, but honestly I still couldn’t find somebody that I like doing that for iracing. I know some stuff change a lot depending on the car/category, but it would be nice to have a guide for the tracks with the basics of breaking points, turning points and all that, and I think you could do an amazing job with the way you explain things. All the best to you! Cheers!!!

Yeah, it's confusing as all heck - the iRacing API is not the greatest for certain things. Damage being one famously, but the other is track position. I think it just lists all the drivers that are being rendered and then apps like crew chief infer your position based on that. If someone is 'blinking' or isn't being rendered due to settings crew chief is blind to that driver. It would be nice though if the API had a value, set every time you went over the start/finish line that crew chief could read that was just your actual position rather than have crew chief sort of figure it out. OR at least have the API provide the number of cars that are rendered and the number of cars total and if there is a big difference, Crew Chief just doesn't talk about position. Either would work I'd think but that's my iRacing API rant, I've been Mod, thanks for your time :D

Some great tips, thanks for that. The best thing I did for my braking was get a set of Heusinkveld sprint pedals, they are expensive but are built like tanks and very reliable with excellent load cells and adjustments.. If your not familiar they use software called Smart Control that allows you to set you pedals once in iracing (during initial setup) and then control all your pedals by creating various profiles that allow you to setup throttle, clutch and braking curves without messing with iracing settings. For the brakes you can set you max pressure to say 40kg and also setup deadzones and max limits (eg 80% of 40kg) to help avoid lockups etc.. You can also change this on the fly while driving in iracing, or switch profiles etc.. The ability to control braking like this was the biggest single improvement I got from any hardware/software. In reality the probably cost me less than my Fanatec pedals as they often sell second hand for upwards of 80% of their RRP.

the view settings!!! Sir, thank you very much...I've never been able to 'feel' iracing but always wanted to. I'm at 45 FOV but cant drive like that...until now. Using the move buttons in Cam made my times in the default skip barber at canada go from 1:35 flat to a 1:33.4!!!! with auto blip. Hope this translates to other cars just as well. Only issue...I cant see my wing mirrors now!! lol. Any advice on that one please? On single 55" and pressing left or right just shows side of cockpit head rests ;O(

Hello, new to i racing just got my d licence, been watching your tutorial for help, not finished yet, one big problem that i have, is my force feed back, inhave a fanatec elite, all my settings on wheel are at about 90%, all boxes check in iracing set up, but still ( at lease with the mazda mx5) could not feel much feed back, no bumps on circuit and almost nothing with the curbs, have not yet practice with skip barber, but i dont feel much feed back as to compare with project car 2. Any help? Thks in advance

Great video’s, thank you so much for all the help. Video idea that for the life of me cant find or figure out on my own, How to get a track map overlay? Please help...
@kreyeacc53325 жыл бұрын
Just so that I understand it correctly. Am I supposed to set the brakes to the max on the pedals settings (for fanatec) and then dial it back to a degree in the game files where I won't lock up stomping the brakes to the max? I'm subbing! You definetly deserve more subs and views, man! You really help us newbies out! (been on iracing for a week and I'm currently having a hard time with getting proper laptimes with the M8 gte on interlagos...)
@Sampsoid5 жыл бұрын
That is certainly what some people do but it can take a lot of work for each car and track (because of uphill braking etc). Really I would advise dialing it in until you feel comfortable. Thanks so much for the support!

The first tip i thought it would be amazing but i just want 1 setup brake for all cars, i am not that advanced yet, prob useful for more experienced drivers last tip was really good too ctrl+3 , i save replays for that moment but its always a pain to find it it also has ctrl 1 to go back and ctrl 4 and 6 to go from practice to quali to race in the timeline

I meant don't have chrome running while driving. Close chrome once you sim loads. I use the iRacing beta software to load races, it's been out for months now and works great.
