A: a lot of them have more than one monitor, and B: Your fov is suppose to be roughly as if you were sitting in a cockpit looking through a window onto the track. A wide fov will help you see more to the sides, sure, but it will also fuck up your depth perception, which is very important in sim racing games where braking, acceleration and turning points are what separates the good from the bad. There are calculators online which tells you the optimal fov based on how far you're sitting from the screen and the size of it.

Also you focus more on where the car could be instead of watching where's the car in front 😂😂😂 But of course you're all simracing professionals so I'll be insulted for what I've said ...

@@jamarcus_OG No, you'll be insulted for being ignorant. It's possible to solve that problem in more than one ways you know. Firstly there's solving it by simply knowing, which is what actual professional racing drivers have to do as well. They can't move their heads very far while racing either, so checking blind spots and stuff while racing is out of the question. You also have spotters both in real life and in the game to combat this. Then there's mods like helicorsa, tho that's just for AC and some think it's akin to cheating. Then, as mentioned (and ignored) before, a lot of people have multi screen setups. And lastly you can simply asign buttons to "look left", and "look right".

I have more than 850 hours spent in Assetto Corsa and other 650 combined in R3E , PC , PC2 and DiRT Rally , i know what i am saying , and to me is a bad idea to sacrifice fov and peripheral view to have more 1:1 cockpit ratio (on one screen) . But you seem a so prepared simracing enineer , so i apologize if i may have offended you my lord , i'll buy the *holy simracer bible* asap .
